The RAV4 was not the right donor vehicle for this. I get the reliability bit but it has a fussy design to begin with and proportions don’t work. I thought a CX-5 or Santa Fe might work better but the reality is it needs to be more square. A Kia Telluride/VW Atlas or Ford Edge might work better or, dare I even say

BUT WHAT CAR WAS HE DRIVING (sorry, I got lost here on my way to Jalopnik)

wait wait wait. Hold up. Smart’s are exempt from the 25 year rule? DOES THIS MEAN I CAN IMPORT A SMART ROADSTER NOW!?

Then why IN GODS NAME isn’t GM putting super cruise in EVERYTHING and shouting about in caps. A $112,000 Escalade doesn’t come with it as standard. The new pointless Caddy sedans dont have it. That’s insane. They need to shove it in every Buick, every Equinox, every Encore, every truck - to make people actually like

I like the business model. Back in the crazy days of 2006, I leased a Toyota Aygo (smaller than a Yaris, yes really) on a ‘just add gas’ type deal in the UK where I paid the equivalent of $150 a month for a brand new, kinda fun city car, insurance, servicing, cleaning EVERYTHING for 3 years. As a 19yo college kid who

This is what they should’ve launched with. The GV70 is more in my wheelhouse but I’m excited to see what else they’ve got coming. I do hope more EV/PHEV options are added too.

At $2500 for a winter beater?....maybe. But I’d still prefer a V70 over this. The mileage/age combo makes no sense and no EU vehicle does well being left idle for any length of time which this most definitely has. ND.

It’s supplemental for me. I have blind spot detection which I find really useful for highway driving, but always do the quick look over the shoulder to double check. However I do use the back-up camera almost exclusively. It gives a much more wider range vision than I can see from the back of a stupidly sized (for me)

Never look back. I’ve owned too many rusty Ford shitbuckets, French econo-super minis and German moneypits to name. I have a leased ‘18 Highlander now which I detest because of its total lack of personality. I’ve no desire to go back to any of the crap I’ve owned before - just look forward to the fun stuff ahead.

I’m confused. These are hatchbacks? not sedans?

100%! Toyota literally can’t build the RAV4 Prime fast enough.

The thing with the Zoe is that the range is decent enough (for a small city car) and with the subsidies, you can essentially lease one in Germany/France/other EU countries for free (or close to free) so of course the sales are going to be good. If you build EV’s cheap enough and with enough range.....the buyers are

My Dad currently has the VW Transporter conversion (he lives in the UK) and he loves it. It’s been the most reliable vehicle to date. Surprisingly the most problematic one we had was a 2001 Toyota Previa - constant turbo issues, A/C and gearbox problems. I an constantly amazed at how much these things cost. I know

$20k! WOWZ. I know BAT prices can go a bit crazy but that’s another level. I’ve been watching out for a CPO 2nd gen V60 Cross Country. The prices are creeping down and i’m desperate for one in Fusion Red. As soon as they hit $25k I think I might have to go for it. Yes, i’ll always wish I could afford the T8 but it’s a

I like it because I like all Volvo’s but the price just seems too high for this. Now if this was some sort of unicorn V50 T5 R Design manual......MAYBE.

I guess it might be a little big (although its 2 inches shorter than a Camry) but it does everything you want pretty well and the hatch makes its practical for family use and it has ALL the safety stuffz you need. Get yourself a CPO with a decent warranty and you’ve got an easy car to live with for the next 8 years or

I have a leased ‘18 Highlander and honestly this is the first time I’ve ever had a car I have zero emotional connection to. I’m often a bit sad it’s not been stolen overnight. I am used to unreliable, terrible, euro superminis so it’s not the car for me. Lesson learnt. But It’s great you have much more of a connection

Looks like some sort of modified Proton Saga to me....

Realistically this mainly competes against the Lexus RX right? It’s for people that want a bit of LUXE but don’t want to spend their entire time driving loaners as their german SUV is at the dealer. The RX has a DIABOLICALLY awful interior. Sure its comfy but the infotainment is a mess and it’s incredibly dated. So

What is the range of these things?
