The OA was some of the most cringeworthy and embarrassing shit I’ve ever watched.  And I watched.  I got several episodes in and I just had to stop out of genuine embarrassment and discomfort.  So, maybe that’s why it got canceled.  You know, because it wasn’t very good.

Also, correct me if I’m wrong here, but the ending we got for GoT was GRRM’s ending. He met with D&D, laid out his overall plans for the story, and that’s apparently what we got.
