I like the idea of books. For babies “bring a copy of your favorite childhood book” and for the age when other kids start coming "bring a copy of your child's favorite book", at least until they're old enough to have real interests of their own.

I don't see any way that donating to charity can be rude. 

The bars just mean it’s one of those sad little cages that are too small for any living thing. And you’re right, because the pet stores get a profit from these cages not only are most employees not educated on the humane minimum size being far bigger than them, but they could also get in trouble for telling customers…

It’s really easy to tell that cage is too small, because there is not one single barred, plastic lidded cage that is big enough for current humane regulations around hamster cage size. Critter keeper and other such barred+plastic cages are in fact not large enough to meet minimum cage sizes for ANY living creature,…

I think that’s when a lot of people found out, I can’t pinpoint exactly when but some time between 3-6 years ago I read about it in the context of “the best” way to give to charity.

I can't describe how glad I am that other people also know this.

When our clothing, shoes, etc get donated to other countries, it puts local artisans and stores out of business putting an even greater strain on their economy than before the donations.

Adding to this, maybe she can work in a little dig like “honestly I’m not even fully sure this one even got it in before he was done and crying onto my chest”

7% above inflation is terrible. That’s a huge increase for no reason, and shouldn’t be allowed. If landlords can still make a profit in Vancouver at less than 3% increase annually in long term tenants for the past ten years, they can definitely make a profit in any state.

My Dell laptop also does this, I’ve spent probably over a hundred hours actively trying to fix it.

In BC it’s a maximum of 2.5%.

My guess would be no. In many areas the minimum wage for building managers is $__ per month per unit, and they’re expected to be available 24/7. Salary managers at fast food restaurants work illegally long shifts when short-staffed. 

I don't put plastics in the dishwasher, it ruins them, top rack or no it's still a machine full of 100°+ steam.
