IMO, if you make more than double the average or median income for your area, be that state or city, you're rich. In case you have a walk-somewhere-without-your-car emergency in your dress shoes? If you work in nice shoes it would be an idea to have old running shoes in case you need to walk for gas or whatever. If you only wear comfortable shoes you probably don't need backups.
