“Before they were the only type of film”

Oh I loved it but when I go over 1,200 words I start to feel a little nuts. Gotta cut something and Gideon didn’t ask to dissect anybody this week.

You know, I let him have Otisburg. He was a lot less annoying than his jackass boss I allowed Australia. Otis was a good groveler, and good people.

No love for Ava channeling Gideon into a CRT TV and Gideon basically being Max Headroom for the duration of the episode?

*deep breaths*

“Otisburg? OTISBURG??!!??”

There’s a reason fans still wanted Man of Steel 2. The movie has its problems, but there’s a lot in it that works, including a really cool take on Krypton, an incredible soundtrack from Hans Zimmer, and Henry Cavill himself, who seemed to fit the role greatly, and just needed more chances to show that.

I’m sure Sly approved of future Taco Bell entress.

Stallone, apparently, never cared much, saying in 1992 that he’d be happy to have a meal in pill form because “I’m just not prone to chew a lot” and because “It doesn’t go with my personality.”

I’m with you on Man of Steel - it was excellent and I defend it as well. Sucks about the other Zach Snyder followups, though.

I’m always going to defend Man of Steel as my favourite Superman film. Probably my favourite of the 2013 blockbusters and one which I’ve revisited several times. It still holds up.

Knowing Barsanti, it’s somehow both.

Replies seem to be grey for me and disappear when I go to reply.

HEY BUDDY- staff was promised that there’d be no self-reflection here, OK??

Probably because of some kind of masochistic tendency, much like why some people read a blog about pop culture, entertainment, and celebrities where none of the bloggers actually enjoy pop culture, entertainment, or celebrities.

London Loki Lectures look like lovely little lessons learning lore less laboriously.

This is, sadly, a great example of how far this once-great site has fallen.

If it’s by Hasseneger or Barsanti, it’s automatic trash. Hassenger’s been writing for Polygon now and it’s just as bad; that site has also been going downhill despite the occasional brilliant piece. The new girl is fucking terrible. There are hardly any TV reviews, and what they ARE reviewing, nobody seems to give a

I’m officially done with this site.

I’m popping over to my shop after work today for the next Brubaker/Phillips Reckless book anyway, perfectly timed post to get me to see if they have this in stock too because this looks/sounds great!
