It feels like this van is likely all built with Allen wrenches by this guy.

For me, something like this would be the sweet spot for a campervan. Still pretty drivable for a daily, but comfort for a weekend as well. Eurovan weekender hit that same spot.  Not sure there is anything in the US currently that works.

I’m torn on this one. The anecdata I have about Volts (from a few people I know who had them) is that the owners really liked them, and they were bummed when they got canceled. Since this is a tarted-up version (and I personally like the look of it), chances are this might be a good car, too. The big BUT in my mind is

Gotta admit I always likes these -- both the styling and the hybrid concept. When new they were priced too crazy high, and now I’d have a very rational fear that if the battery died it’s be an expensive-if-not-feasible replacement hassle. So while this one is pretty, I’d have to say reluctant ND.

Since these ELRs have depreciated like dropped rocks, and how he’s on the high side for what these hybrids go for nowadays; if you’re not afraid of buying a decade-old EV and an ICE folded into one body, go for it. Despite its lowish miles for its age I would be, so ND from me.

Because the liability would be worth a lot more than the money they’d make selling them.

No, shut up, this is how we got where we are with giant overpowered trucks ruining everything. This can already tow 4,000 pounds and still gets decent mileage. If you want a big truck, buy a big truck. Don’t ruin the small truck.

Yeah, those engines and transmissions are about as reliable as it gets. If it’s gotten regular oil changes that combo will easily hit 200-300k miles. At first glance it looks well taken care of. If the seller has maintenance records I would say an absolute NP.

These always looked OK to me–not lustworthy but in line with the original Infiniti aesthetic, except for the Camry-like rear. Seems like a pretty nice ride for the money. NP.

This is what I was thinking. The old cars were tiny and not particularly fast by modern standards.

But the weight isn’t all that different. The lightest trims are 0.8% heavier, and the heaviest is less than 14% heavier.

Has the size creep affected its performance negatively?

Isn’t that what the 718 is for?

As long as us over 6 foot people can actually fit in it to.

It’s astonishing that such a storied brand could be driven into the ground so quickly.” - Astonishing, yes. Surprising, no. Reason: private investment firm AKA bloodsuckers.

As I said in the story:

Some people don’t even know they plug in at all because they saw a good lease deal and just went for it.

I don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t just charge their PHEV all the time. I keep mine topped off whenever possible, as my MPG is so, so much better that way.

To all the people that complain about taking their fast cars to tracks because it’s expensive, or too far and instead want to drive fast on public roads: this is why.

Man I love Spectator Drags at short tracks, let idiots in their own cars be idiots in a safe controlled environment for all to enjoy!
