Teslas are now firmly in the category of “cheap used car” (or “ugly novelty” if it’s a cybertruck). They are rapidly approaching the cultural status attained by the Altima

To everyone saying this car is ugly - this isn’t even their magnum opus. The Ssangyong Rodius would like to speak with you

First car I bought myself was early in college in 2009. I bought my grandma’s 1998 VW cabrio for $4k, and besides smelling like an old lady and being unsettling to drive at highway speeds, it was a fine car.

NP, this is surely one of the nicest ones left and $16k isn’t some comically large amount of money. For someone who has nostalgia for these and wants a nice weekend cruiser in the most desirable spec they offered, I could see this being a fair deal.

I’m surprised these are up to 2500lb, that seems awfully heavy for what it is. The move for a miata track car seems to be buying an NC and doing a 2.5 swap on it for $500.

Worth noting the Recaro Podium seats in this that picture are around $4200/ea if you were to buy them on their own. I have to imagine those are a very expensive extra option on top of whatever this costs.

For reference, the 1993 C4 ZR1 had a sticker of about 67k, which equals a little under 150k in today’s money. I don’t think it’s fair to say this is “too expensive for a Corvette” considering what it offers.

In terms of raw depreciation in dollars, a new Mirage for $12k has to have the lowest potential depreciation of any car on the market. Even with 100k on the clock 10 years from now, there will be a floor for a running car of at least a few grand. You basically can’t ever lose more than $10k by owning one of these.

They probably will. Honda sold a rebadged version of the Trooper for a couple years while they were developing the Pilot, which ended up being a huge sales success once it finally came out (and still is). They may do the same here, where they rebadge an Armada and use Nissan’s manufacturing capacity for a bit while

This thing is shockingly nice, easily the nicest once I’ve seen in years that wasn’t on BaT. Miles become irrelevant on a car this old and condition is way more important, and this one looks to be in pretty great shape. NP.

Not the guy you’re replying to, but I tow my track car 300-500 miles in a day through areas that are in the rural midwest and do this 10-12 times per year. Even if charging infrastructure existed there (it doesn’t, and doesn’t have the demand for it), I’d have to disconnect my trailer to pull into a spot. When the day

Pompous image of dailying a Cayenne. I live in an upscale area full of Karens, the GX is already pushing it as far as that goes. Depreciation is not fun, but Lexuses depreciate dramatically less than comparable cars, and my GX is worth 90% of what I paid for it 3 years ago.

For my own use case, I’d go for the range extender one but not the EV-only one. I work from home and have no commute, and I would like something that runs electric-only around town. I also tow my race car long distances and cannot feasibly stop to charge in rural areas with a trailer attached.

NP, there is a floor for good-looking wagons on a decent chassis and this isn’t too far off it. This is in the same price range as a similar condition E91 with good options, an E31 with some miles on it, or a really nice TSX wagon. I’d offer less than what he’s asking but I don’t think this is outrageous.

Nah this is cool. The new Prius demonstrated that you can have low-drag, efficient design in a 4-door hatchback while still making it look good. I see this as Honda’s move into the same territory.

The U9 can jump and is absurdly fast, and the U8 is a rad looking 1200hp SUV that can float and drive around in the water. This kind of thing is the biggest evidence that US legacy automakers are going to be left in the dust - Americans can’t make the jump out of their lifted dually mall crawlers into an EV, meanwhile

Whichever EV SUV ends up depreciating the fastest on the used market. My wife and I had planned on replacing her car with the ID Buzz when it came out, but the specs are so disappointing we are going to look elsewhere. The ZDX is neat, maybe those will drop like a rock and we can get one for a deal in not too much

Interesting context here - the newer presidential vehicle is kept pretty secret in terms of armor and technology for the sake of security. Selling this one means the new one is substantially different, to the extent that they don’t really care if someone reverse-engineers anything on this one because it doesn’t apply

This should have been lower volume and priced more similarly to the NSX when that was revived. Contrary to what they seem to think, Maserati doesn’t have a ton of brand cache around high-end supercars. They needed to price this similar to a volume car from a “cheaper” manufacturer like the C8 Z06, or similar to a

He did specify that those were the only things the guy really had a complaint about, not that they were debilitating failures of the car. That being said, I live in a very cold area and would be annoyed if the seats and steering wheel didn’t get very warm.
