You could say the same about basically any other performance figure used in brochures to sell cars. A sub-2s 0-60 time, fast nurburgring time, or super high top speed are really more for flexing between automakers and owners than they are for any actual practical purpose.

Ok boomer

Monaco would be infinitely better if they made it a points qualifying event, then did the actual races in spec Miatas or some other form of smaller, lower-powered car which is more suited to the track.

2JZ no shit” and all that, but the S38 is extremely cool in its own right and is what I would’ve kept. High-revving old school NA I6 with ITBs? Sign me up.

I don’t blame the guy for hiding. If you’ve ever seen a moose in-person, they are roughly the size of a Suburban and are terrifying.

I thought the same. Huge bummer because this is otherwise one of the best-looking vehicles Cadillac has put out lately.

This is the exact scenario I wanted to avoid. My S2000 is a dedicated track car with a large splitter and very low ride height, so even going over speed bumps is a non-starter. With all the other logistics involved in tracking a car and trailering it there, I made the call early on that messing around with a u-haul

This is appealing. I had been renting trailers from some dude out in the country because my car is too low to easily get onto the previous u-haul model.

I thought the same, it looked clapped out from the outside pictures but I think (hope) it just needs to be washed.

Not surprised this was so advanced, Honda does not mess around when making products in this space. The first-gen Insight is a marvel of efficient design and engineering, and Honda surely lost money on every one they sold.

So cool. For anyone wanting to read more about these wild 80s conversions, 1000sel.com is a fantastic source for info on all kinds of crazy stuff like this

Dodge buyers are the last people I would expect to be interested in EVs of any kind

$199/mo with nothing down for a lease is unreal, especially considering this isn’t a stripped econobox with no features.

Interesting that Mazda is still clinging to the rotary, even in the face of it basically being considered a meme engine due to how unreliable and difficult they are to own.

Funny enough, the vehicle I got in its place was a top-trim GX460 which kept surprising me with new features I didn’t realize it even had. Total opposite experience through and through.

Agreed, and IMO it’s all about expectations being met or missed. I owned a 2015 BMW wagon that had halogens and no backup camera, and found myself annoyed that BMW was even willing to sell such a vehicle when cheaper competitors offered much more as standard (the car was a deal but I regretted not holding out for a

These are technically street-legal but are not easy to get registered. There was a video a while back of a guy doing this with a Superlite SLC in MN, where he had to go to the DMV several times before he found a guy who knew how to register it as a kit car.

If they toned this down by about 15% and priced it competitively with the Bronco and Wrangler it would sell like crazy, enough to put a serious dent in the sales figures of those two models.

I love it and would be very interested in owning one, but unfortunately for Lucid, I’m less interested in spending $80k on a car that will lose half its value in the first year. I’ll wait until they show up used for 50k in 2026 and get one then.

Can confirm - I do genuinely look forward to going there for routine maintenance. Their coffee is good, they usually have some cool stuff in the showroom, and I will likely get a new loaner I haven’t had before.
