Gridlife Touring Cup is a better version of this. They have a set power:weight ratio with percentage modifiers for other things (ex: if you add a rear wing or wider tires, you need to add weight or remove power by a certain amount). It’s wide open otherwise though and leads to a really interesting field full of cool…
This is a fun novelty for $3k, and I’m sure if you showed up with $2k the guy would probably take it. Possibly the easiest NP of 2024
They killed it at the end of the F31 generation because nobody in the US bought them. I had one and thought it was a good car, but they are not likely to come back.
That is a truly magic combination of sketchiness - Floridians and Eastern Europeans
Big props to Ford for not screwing this up by making it an EV
There is a dollar amount somewhere that makes sense, but it’s not anywhere near retail price. For $5k on a brand new Fisker and a couple sets of pads/rotors I’d probably risk it.
Just when I think this car can’t possibly be more of a hazard to society, someone finds a new way
I really want Hyundai/Genesis to beat it to the punch and actually put their roadster concept into production. That thing looked jaw-dropping.
The Autopian has really picked up, I look forward to continuing to see many of you over there. The Drive is okay, except they weirdly have a very far-right commenting community with some bad takes.
It remains to be seen how long-term depreciation will go on EVs. Do they go down to a floor and stay there, like any other car? Or are they more like a phone, where they become truly worthless once they are outdated enough?
“People love chrome, we have to make them un-love it”
I voted NP and planned to send this to a friend who is in the market for a sedan like this. It appears this one has already sold, meaning it apparently was a pretty good price after all.
Hard disagree, this looks good. It’s only a little odd looking because this still has the lower lip from the regular Z. If that wasn’t there (and the bumper was fully round like the old Z) it would likely look more like what you’re expecting.
Japan has a different view on model life cycle than the US does. While it’s true this car was made for 17 years under “one” generation, it isn’t like the charger/challenger where they did literally nothing to it and kept trying to rake in money on a dated platform. Nissan has been continually changing the car every…
It’s also a factory color that was a no-cost base option on many models in the past. The 964 and 944 often came in grand prix white. If I was gonna do PTS on a historic Porsche color, I’d pick Moonstone or something else cool and obscure.
These cars are dramatically overengineered in the coolest ways possible. The body is aluminum and has fender cutouts like you see in the current porsche RS cars, the engine was magnesium for weight savings, the coefficient of drag would put some modern EVs to shame, and you could get it with a manual. There are more…
Disagree, this is more of an internet car nerd kind of vehicle (ex: doug demuro owned one before he was married). Regular CTS-V would be an older dad/younger grandpa car
This is 100% how I feel too. The focus RS is absolutely punishing to drive as a street car, but they have many known cooling issues as a track car (as you said). You could buy a very lightly used Elantra N or Veloster N for the same money that will be way nicer on the inside with a much better ride. If you wanted a…
