These are tremendously popular as race cars and actually have their own dedicated series. If you haven’t seen it, they are worth looking up. Super cool with giant flares, wide wheels, big aero, giant ITB trumpets on the engine revving to the moon.

Honestly if you don’t need the towing ability or offroad capability, a true unibody crossover makes more sense and those Mazdas are really nice at the price point. Even with the air suspension, the ride quality in mine is just not as good as the more refined competition.

I had the same thought, and that’s another factor of why an EV doesn’t seem ideal. It would likely not hit the breakeven mileage on emissions during my ownership since it wouldn’t be driven much.

Me too. I really like the design of the new GX, though unfortunately I would have to downgrade trims. I currently have a 3-row one with the air suspension, all the driver assist stuff + 360 camera, etc, but also with all of the offroad goodies. The new one makes you pick between the two, i.e. my trim level no longer

First gear: I would buy a PHEV in a heartbeat if one existed that fit my needs, but I would not buy an EV because I have no need for one. I work from home and have no commute, and my “daily” is a GX460 I use as a tow vehicle for my track car. I would love to have a more fuel-efficient tow vehicle which can do 500+

I don’t get replicas. This is just like the Delorean thing - a thousand people have already built movie prop copies, why continue making more of them? The car is great on its own merits.

In the US at least, the F31 was only available with an auto and either this diesel or the N20/B48. I had the gas version and thought it was a lovely car.

The gold looks better than the default silver tbh

This car turned out to be fairly influential IMO, even if it wasn’t intentional. This was the first of the “low weight high power street legal track machine” segment that went on to include so many other low-volume cars we know now. Consulier walked so Noble could run.

The fact it’s modified at all keeps it from being a viable price, even if the mods on it are high quality (those seats are highly desirable amongst Honda nerds). The cleanest one of these in existence in this color with bone stock everything could probably fetch in the upper 30s.

Hard disagree on all fronts. I am old enough to remember each WRX facelift in the US, and everyone hated every single one without exception and said they ruined the car (until the next one came out, after which they said the previous one was the best). IMO the new ones actually look pretty nice in person, especially

This absolutely would have cannibalized sales from Porsche. A base 911 was the most expensive it had ever been (adjusted for inflation across all years) and cost way more than this, and the 968 was still just a facelifted car from the mid-70s that had been surpassed years prior by its rivals. This still probably

NP all day. Any clean example of an enthusiast or other interesting car for under $10k is NP now (I said this on yesterday’s too), and this has the bonus of being an actually pretty decent car. The 5-letter is the one you want, and this is about as clean as you could hope for without spending triple the money on a

That would probably go great tbh. It’s likely that no one there would even know what it is, and not even just young people (ex: I am 32 and had no idea what this thing was, zoomers definitely wouldn’t know). The disjointed body lines and odd design choices make it look like a GTA car in real life.

Honestly any unique car in good shape for under $10k is a NP nowadays (before someone says how crappy and common these were, they are no longer common due to the fact there are none left). This one looks pretty clean and is probably interesting for someone.

In this case, my RSX was older than the Mk6 or Mk7 (forget which) GTI I drove shortly after, and since those cars were pretty much direct competitors I would say it was a fair comparison. If anything the GTI should theoretically have been better since it was newer with lower miles, and also more expensive in terms of

It makes sense the new Land Cruiser would have full-time 4WD since it is the same car as the GX, which has always been that way.

I owned an RSX-S and an S2000 before I drove a GTI and found it to be pretty disappointing by comparison. The only other manual car I’ve owned was a 944 which a little better than the GTI.

Check marketplace in your area (or the nearest metro if you are rural), there are usually quite a few. Cars and Bids or BaT usually have a handful for sale at any given time. E36 tourings are popular too.

Potentially unpopular opinion here - VW manuals have always felt like crap, including in the GTI. Awkward clutch engagement with a rubbery shifter with too long of a throw. I like the driving and handling dynamics of those cars, and would prefer to have them with the DSG if I owned one.
