Apparently it was just the opposite! I would mention that, depending on the setup, a gas turbine may have its own torque converter built in (if the power turbine and gas turbine are not shaft connected).

The knuckle dragging mechanics at my corner shop alienated me as well. Mind you, the pleasant and professional mechanics I use now and refer to others…

And I'd say the same thing for those who flip it around and say 'Manuals get better mileage than automatics'. How you drive, the transmissions in question, and the ratios selected by the manufacturer define it.

Neither really works, but blower is more accurate. While the equipment is often similar, the goals are different.
