Apparently it was just the opposite! I would mention that, depending on the setup, a gas turbine may have its own torque converter built in (if the power turbine and gas turbine are not shaft connected).

If they do good work cheaper than my dealer (which is hard NOT to do) I'd be happy to go to them. I don't hang out at my mechanic, so the niceties would be lost on me. The knuckle dragging mechanics at my corner shop alienated me as well. Mind you, the pleasant and professional mechanics I use now and refer to others

Yeah, they definitely should have done a separate tag.

Because they didn't? The original setup article clearly stated:(Full Disclosure: Audi is covering our airfare to Munich and the hotel at Le Mans. They're also giving us the cars. We're covering the rest.)

And at least one of them ends up having their car on a tow truck by the end of the trip :-)

I heard he just got rid of one of those boxy cars, maybe one of those dancing hamster cars? It must have been a stickshift one since he writes for Jalopnik. Probably brown.

All electric cars still have gearboxes without clutches. Autos! :-)

Automatic. No clutch pedal. Next!

I always took the joke with that strip was 'oh god, a monster is so close I can see the veins in its eyes-oh wait, it's even closer than it looks!' :-)

Alright then, I nominate "calling naturally aspirated cars with through-hood air intakes 'blown'" as my misnomer :-)

Awesome!

God yes. The number of times I've had to explain thermodynamics, I really should have invested in that white board for home...

Just to confuse the issue, Subaru has been changing their AWD offerings as well.

And I'd say the same thing for those who flip it around and say 'Manuals get better mileage than automatics'. How you drive, the transmissions in question, and the ratios selected by the manufacturer define it.

Why?

Nope, they have 5 doors. They're wagons. The 2 doors are shooting brakes.

Neither really works, but blower is more accurate. While the equipment is often similar, the goals are different.

Yeah, it was really because the only people who buy them are the kind of folks who park in handicap spaces!
