Came here to post this.

Not how I read it. Snyder sounds like a loser of near-Rovellian proportions but I sincerely doubt he put together a technical speech and supporting A/V reel of the team’s offensive scheme and pass protection. I took Shanahan’s comments to mean that RGIII was completely empowered by ownership (and that was to the

It’s not hard to see the same anecdote being used as a positive rather than a negative. Griffin calling a meeting and airing his grievances is presented as him being surly and entitled here, but it could just as easily have been used to show his leadership and dedication to success. He boldly called a meeting, had a

Nothing says “Look at how sane and rational I am” like this string of comments and responses.

Are you suggesting here that the affable and fun-loving public persona of a professional athlete worth ~20M and growing might be, in some way, an intentional branding effort? Preposterous!

Let’s not just gloss over the fact that Fredi Gonzalez was one of the most incompetent tactical managers in the game. Apparently he handled the clubhouse stuff fine, which is probably most important, but I would imagine his continued employment, especially managing younger, inexperienced players, was an active

Great announce team.

Bloviating at it’s finest. I didn’t click this article intending to defend Jed York but how does this actually happen? If $2100 broke Kawakami’s back (more likely the Mercury News’ expense account’s back) shouldn’t he have, I dunno, said something during the planning, meeting, ordering, or bill receiving...somewhere?

Bautista sucks.

Another way to measure his value would be to look at, you know, how much his employer pays him to do his job, which is, in theory at least, some reasonable approximation of his market value.

Well, sure, Santiago, but how does Jairo Garcia feel about all of this?

+1 for a reasonable response on the internet. You’re the man. In most cases, it probably isn’t that extreme. I believe UT generates more revenue on football than anyone else. Not sure what the solution is to level the playing field across all universities and sports and levels and whatnot. Obviously this problem

You misunderstood my point entirely. We agree that students should not be graduating with crippling debt. It’s a tremendous problem in need of a solution before the whole system collapses in on itself. My point is that comparing the two is totally useless. The student debt problem is not related to college athletes

I don’t think anyone cares if you, specifically, feel sorry for those guys. What does matter is that people see that the NCAA should probably share a good deal more of the massive wealth they are generating with “amateur” athletics with the athletes responsible for generating it.

I thought it was “Are you ready?”

There’s little to no doubt the umpire fully intended to bury the plate in dirt, so let’s start there.

Also in their release today:

I think I understand the “All Takes Matter” name joke and it’s not funny. Not enough to force it as a running conceit, anyway.

Straight cash, homey!
