MSRP on those trucks is $36k for a base 2wd, V6 , crew cab F150.

No, its not a lot to pay. Its right in the sweet spot for trucks. Trucks should cost more than cars - they can do the daily work of a car plus more.

As a Jeep owner, I can say without a doubt, that it is definitely a truck. It drives like a truck, shifts like a truck, accelerates like a truck, and the back acts as a bed if the seat is out (which mine has been for probably 110k of the 111k miles on the clock).  It also has comparable has mileage to a truck.

As a lifelong fan of the Z series and a former Nismo 370Z owner, hear fucking hear. I couldn’t have said it better myself. 

But...this is ugly. The red going over the top of the door frames with the white roof and red hood just looks dumb
