Not just theirs. The issue is that talc and asbestos are both naturally occurring in talc mines. One of the lawyers who successfully sued J&J for his client compared the mines to the marbling in a steak: Asbestos is found in veins throughout the mines, and it would be impossible not to have asbestos in some batches of…

IKR, right?!! That was hilarious! It absolutely made my day, so I was happy to share. Long live SplinterRIP.

I fucking KNEW Spanfeller would be the stereotypical boss type that’s clueless about any kind of tech.

Also, me tooo! I even re-read the old ones every year!

Since you’re a like minded individual, you should check this out while it’s still available:

fwiw, I think you are absolutely in the target demographic here. The attraction of Deadspin is that it’s sports, politics, and culture. The writing here is so good that I even read about fucking hockey!

Same here. I only “watch” sports (while reading G/O sites on my iPad) because my husband watches sports. But I come here for Drew and his writing. And if I happen to walk away with some sports related trivia or a better understanding of something in the sports world, well, ok, that’s fine, I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  But I…

We need to get this to be the first result that comes up when you search Spanfeller, G/O, etc. Someone smarter than me: how do we achieve this?

Hey that piece of shit nestled between that pig’s enormous testicles looks just like Jim Spanfeller! Uncanny!

It’s like being mad at All the President’s Men for focusing on Woodward and Bernstein instead of doing a deep dive on the Nixon presidency.

It seems pretty clear to me that in the course of reporting the Weinstein story - which was presumably first a piece for NBC TV, which by necessity morphed into a print article when it moved to The New Yorker - a second story started to emerge. It’s literally in the title of this book, “Catch & Kill.” Killing Farrow’s…

It was about the process of getting the story published and the institutional bullshit that protected people like Lauer and Weinstein. I don’t think it minimizes anything about the victims, it’s just about a different-ish topic? It’s like being mad at All the President’s Men for focusing on Woodward and Bernstein…

I have not read this book. But it sounds from the review that this is just not the book on the matter that Megan wanted to read. I’m sure, however, it’s exactly the book that Farrow set out to write.

The book is about NBC killing the story and Farrow trying to get it published.

Any time you need to precede a statement with “I’m not prejudiced...” means you’re about to say something REALLY prejudiced. On an aside, has there ever been a more appropriate name for a county sheriff than “Hoss”?

He’s probably used the “I have black friends” defense against being called a racist so often that he decided it’s a defense against any accusations of bigotry.

When I spoke out against my abuser, people tried to silence me by telling me to think about his family and children. I wasn’t the one ruining their lives - he was.

I think so too, and I don’t think Eden is confused, I think she’s straight up lying. Not to make herself famous though. She’s lying because Sasha is paying her to lie to try to destroy Noah. She met Sasha with Helen at the party, and Helen told Sasha that Eden probably had an affair with Noah, and that planted the…

The relationship between Sierra and her mother is so raw and toxic and familiar I can barely look directly at it. Which makes the second half of the episode all the more insane. Really the show at its best and worst, right there
