You’re equating tv ratings with enjoyability of the games, which may be, but probably isn’t, directly related.

Not in sports, no. I don’t think it’s some hot take to suggest that the playoffs would be more enjoyable with a bunch of teams that are reasonably close in talent to make the games enjoyable and the series’ results not preordained.

While not getting into the subjective analysis, Durant realistically played one year longer than he was required to, and even that is stretching it. I don’t know. Over an 82 game season, a long slog especially for non-diehard fans, the Warriors might be incredibly entertaining to watch. It ruins competitive balance for the postseason, sure, although anything can happen in the Finals.
