What is the best thing you’ve read since April 1, 2016?

The biggest surprise in reading this was learning that Incarnate Word was not a made-up college.

You are unfailingly supportive of your staff in public. I don’t really have a comment other than that’s noticeably good boss-ing.

It’s senior week, so go ahead and give us that Zirin take

Hey Barry, do you guys have a suggested reading list or bibliography showing just how/why publicly financed stadiums are bad? Love your coverage and would like to dive deeper into the issue.

This take is so fire and righteous

Do you consider yourself generally to the left or to the right of your coworkers?

Besides Drew, have any other staffers published a novel, or have serious plans to?

Technically, the Knicks have 3 all-nba players too. And three all stars too. And Porzingis. Ergo, super-team!

Perhaps a dumb question, but do you eat that lil guy whole?

How do you become a sports fan without TV?

If you Google “Tim Marchman” a bunch of results show up for The National Review and The Weekly Standard. Are there 2 Tim Marchmans out there?

Cowboys-Steelers Super Bowl. I played Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on SNES instead of watching the game after kickoff.

You’re equating tv ratings with enjoyability of the games, which may be, but probably isn’t, directly related.

Have you ever thought that maybe you’re unemployable because you’re a fucking asshole?

Not in sports, no. I don’t think it’s some hot take to suggest that the playoffs would be more enjoyable with a bunch of teams that are reasonably close in talent to make the games enjoyable and the series’ results not preordained.

While not getting into the subjective analysis, Durant realistically played one year longer than he was required to, and even that is stretching it. When Durant was a “free agent” the first time around, the Thunder could match any deal he was offered by another team. The Thunder were obviously going to match any other

I don’t know. Over an 82 game season, a long slog especially for non-diehard fans, the Warriors might be incredibly entertaining to watch. It ruins competitive balance for the postseason, sure, although anything can happen in the Finals.

Counterpoint/Additional Point: Tilt was great!

Not to mention, players in NBA free agency have an artificial cap on their potential earnings and all of the players’ earnings come from a shared pool, thereby greatly distorting what they are “worth.” Goodell’s compensation is not limited by either of those factors. His equivalence is false.
