Magic the gathering also has a significantly larger deck size, and many many more (theoretically, at least) turns before the end of a game. That’s going to impact how counters work and how impactful they are.

He was in mine for a while, though he’s taken a backseat to other series 2 tech cards the higher I’ve gone in collection level. Armor is a commonly played card now for decks that use 1 cost they want to keep out, and cards like Wolverine, Sabretooth, or Venom make Destroy decks less reliant on a bunch of 1 cost cards.

It helps that many of the series 3 decks just don’t rely on 1 cost cards to nearly the same degree, and control of the board is found more in 2 and 3 cost cards.
