Oh absolutely. Not missing it or the associated costs with unique models, but I found it ironic to see a quote about 80k units being ‘significant. Even though their compact/midsize car market was spread across numerous platforms, Ford still decided to can this entire segment despite the sunk cost of already having

“Let’s say of the 800,000 F series that we sell a year, just 10 percent are interested. That’s still 80,000 vehicles. These are huge numbers.”

I kinda wish AvE would’ve done this. How else would we have known if it was a skookum choocher?

I really like this thought and have considered what it would take to electrify a pickup. I think the volume under the hood and space in/around the frame rails would do well to house some batteries.

Got to see these in person this week at an expo, pretty rad. Definitely an excellent way to showcase the technology, even if you don’t care for the look of the end product.
