Came here to see if anyone was gonna mention this. That show is super underrated. I just watched the first episode of the new season and loved it.

The guy in the office’s line “I like when girls joke around” (paraphrasing) was so cringey and funny.
As usual, Steve Howey is still killing it, but this season is taking such a weird approach to the Kev & V storylines. It’s like each episode’s plot is tangentially tied to the previous one’s, but there’s never enough meat on any of them (Kev’s lump leading to the discovery of his family, etc.). I’m also still annoyed…
Yeah, this was mostly a snooze, though I liked a couple of the Lip scenes. Fiona’s story was interesting in theory, but I was just bored, and I too wish she and Ian could’ve had an episode to hash everything out instead of the weird follow-up we got here. Debbie’s story was borderline intolerable.
Agreed, though I think they made a point of clarifying that they didn’t have sex, just ‘mild groping’ or something.
I liked most of this episode, but man, that ending pissed me off. Ever since the pilot, I’ve been waiting for this moment, but so far S2 has made me think it would never actually happen, that they recognized nobody wanted to see Archie-Betty in that way. And then...fuuuuuck.
Yep, agreed. I liked the start of S3 a lot, with the Pat arc (there were 3 or 4 episodes that were genuinely tense, as well as super funny), but since Lewis died, the show has been floundering. If it’s not better by the end of this season, I think I’m out.
This episode was just okay, but a couple things I liked a lot:
A lot of this episode felt like table-setting for me, and I was a little bored waiting for the inevitable conclusions (Brad relapsing, Ian and Trevor getting back together, etc.), but I do really like this conflict they’re setting up between Fiona and Ian. In retrospect, maybe the hot tub scene between them earlier…
Not nearly enough Kiersey Clemons in this trailer - IIRC, her episode in S1 was by far my favorite. And man did I not need to see more of the Evan Jonigkeit + Dave Franco + Aya Cash + Zazie Beetz storyline.

This is a bummer. Unfortunately, though, Season 3 never clicked with me (haven’t watched the last two episodes yet). There were parts I liked (like John Cho), but I didn’t laugh much. Not sure if it’s actually worse or if I just got bored with the joke style, but it was a huge step down from Season 2 for me.
Super low-stakes, but I’m still enjoying the vibe of this season so far.
I think that’s always been implicitly part of the reason why Ian was so close to Monica, so no, I don’t think the writers necessarily forgot about it. Though you never know with this show - there’ve been a lot of inconsistencies.
She also kidnapped Mateo, which is the one that always gets to me (especially because Rafael obviously has more of a connection to Mateo than Michael).
I thought this had an energy that has been missing from the last couple seasons (though I thought S7 was a considerable step up from S6). Really enjoyed all of this (though I’m not really invested in Ian and Trevor getting back together).
Yeah, of course. I don’t think S1 disproved the possibility of him being asexual at all. I just wonder if that sex scene never reached, well, sex as a nod to that potential direction.
I actually really liked the dual narrators, and I wouldn’t mind them going forward. It really shakes the show up. It also helps Adam feel like a real, viable love interest and new important character, rather than just being the temporary boyfriend to stand in the way until Jane and Rafael inevitably get back together…
Yeah, this was lower-tier for the show - I was a tad disappointed we didn’t get to see any of the gang faking being tortured to Vicky, though the joke that they actually successfully tortured Tahani was funny. And the flashbacks weren’t great (aside from the great visual of the plunger).
Really nice episode, and Zosia Mamet was great - it’s cool to see her in a more subdued role compared to her typical fast-talking Shoshanna-type character.
