Is it even possible to take off from the wrong runway? In case of correct (comm) procedures that is, not deliberately.

Thanks for the new background! (Full resolution from NASA here)

In Phantasialand, close to Cologne in Germany. They’ve got another fun one as well:

It’s literally breathtaking, so you haven’t got a lot of air left for screaming, funnily enough.

There are actually a couple of coasters around that use electromagnetic (linear motor) launch systems, rather than the hydraulic system discussed in the video. Taron (Phantasialand) is a great example, with a second acceleration halfway through the ride, which would be (a lot) harder to implement with a winch.

Great, heartfelt piece from the BBC on Button’s rallycross ties. I would expect him in WorldRX rather than GRC though (or both, why not).

Nah, it just takes an extra week for them to recognize an obstruction.

Just try a couple of things and see what you like. Later on, you’ll be able to buy a potion (for 1,000 crowns, but you’ll quickly get that if you don’t buy armor and weapons, but scavenge and craft instead) that resets your points, if you want to change your play style or try something else.

Not exactly, an average of $15,000 just means that the total American debt is $4,800,000,000,000 (= $15,000 x 320 million Americans). In practice however, some people will have >$1 million in debt, while numerous others will have no debt. You can (sort-of) imagine ‘your’ $15,000 being spread out across the population,

Sensor compatibility and a convenient data overlay seem to be the selling points. Especially when bikes are concerned: just about every ‘advanced’ cycling sensor (speed, cadence, power, heart rate) uses the ANT+ protocol, which the Virb supports. You can add that data to GoPro footage afterwards, but it’s easier to

Next statement: “We have partnered with nanoFlowcell and will combine the hydrogen stations with salt water pumps. Cheap energy and pipe dreams for all!”

If Lewis didn’t already have the G63 6x6, it’d be his perfect company car.

Volgas and Vodka? Sounds like a plan!

You see, this is why I have never attended Cars and Coffee. I don’t like coffee.

It’s appears that we can expand the two-year rule to not only include flying cars, but autonomous ones as well.

Probably/possibly. Though it would be interesting if it were able to preselect the next two gears to be engaged, so e.g. a seamless shift from 3rd to 5th would be possible, or from 11th to 9th. Or skip gears completely. I imagine waiting for the car to find its preferred gear could become quite tedious in an 11-speed.

Indeed. I’ve got a pair with the Boa reel system, and the dial is great for making small adjustments on the fly.

A case of bike-on-cycle violence, with Greg Van Avermaet being tackled while leading the Classica San Sebastian last year:

Vroom vroom, boom?
