That's a cool piece of trivia. I hadn't ever heard that before but it makes sense.

It goes to some weird, unexpected places. I hope you'll like it!!

I felt that way with Great Expectations. It took me forever to get into it (like a year because I kept putting it down and going back to it) but once I did I flew through it and loved it so much!

A+ choice! I'm counting the days til season 2.

And if you don't watch it then what are you doing with your life?? Please don't tell me you have anything better to do than watch these two gorgeous men run around on TV because we both know that's not true :-)

That's SO pretty!!

Haha, he's all yours. I don't have nether regions feelings about him, I just think he's funny and really like Nerdist and enjoy how enthusiastic he always is.

Hell yeah he is (well, he's in the second two films of the trilogy). Also LOTR is amazing! I hope you enjoy if you end up watching!

Belting out that song is among the most satisfying things in the world.

Now playing

I turned on the TV just in time for the start of "I'll Make A Man Out of You" in Mulan. Which always makes me think of this (ie: my favorite thing the internet ever produced):

Did I misread something? The article doesn't seem to suggest that broadening the definition of masculinity to be more inclusive of traditionally feminine traits means that people who are transgender somehow don't need to be transgender anymore because they can be, as you said, feminine men. I'm sure there are assholes

Nothing quite fills the GoT gap but I always love when Justified is back on.

Because the show hasn't been on that long and I haven't heard him talk about it on the Nerdist?

I didn't know about this show and now I'm very excited because I want more Chris Hardwick in my life.

It would be the perfect punishment. They'd have to listen to each other's whiny woe is me I behaved like a complete dickwad and suddenly people were mean to me! stories for the rest of eternity.

April Ludgate is one of my favorite characters, but sometimes I wonder about Aubrey Plaza's devotion to the shtick (don't throw things at me!) But Amy Poehler and Anna Kendrick love her so she must be cool. There are a lot of A names in that thought...

Is the length throwing anybody else? I'd love it if the skirt were knee length. Long skirts just seem off for a daytime event.

I find recipes for things like that very useful. I grew up with a mom who didn't like to cook, in a vegetarian house, and kept kosher for a long time. I literally knew nothing about making a sandwich more exciting than peanut butter until my mid-20s. Combining meats and cheeses is still a brave new world for me.

Thanks. I am interested in class in Britain (I'm American lower middle class but went to a posh British uni) but it sounds like maybe it should be something I read when I get around to it, as opposed to bumping it to the top of the list. I actually never read Autograph Man - I had a copy but since I've never spoken to

I just bought Ruth Ozeki's newest, so that's next on my list and then one of Ward's. I'd like to know how NW is. I had mixed feelings about White Teeth and On Beauty.
