Actually they dont have a reverse gear, as the electric motor itself changes the rotation direction. So most EVs just have a reduction gearbox.

But nobody wants the base model, so they rake in the real dough with the options. So yeah, that 1000€ paintjob probably didnt cost 1000€ more for the manufacturer.

Is it the engine? Because the Audi cars themselves where dead reliable. I had a 96 A4 1.9 TDi and it was the most reliable car Ive ever owned.

I was about to suggest a 2012 onwards Audi A6 Allroad with its 5500 pounds towing capacity but those do not seem to exist in the USA.
