I haven’t seen anything in there that was actual news, just a summary of “yep, we all know he’s a shitshow.”  The fact that they leaked is a much more interesting story.

Keep in mind - someone decided this should exist. Someone actually followed through and made it. And someone decided it looked good enough to share.

Just like the USWNT this tweet brought us all together with a common goal. In this case it was dunking on a dipshit organization for publishing this awful monstrosity. This has been one of my favorite Twitter mornings in recent memory.

I really liked Amy as a villain- she was complex in her crazy especially in the book. I don’t think writing female villains means you dislike women

I was always confused by Flynn defending her premises by saying nobody writes about women being the villain.. when there are still many people out there believing that women are all manipulative liars, making up elaborate revenge stories about false rapes and trying to “ruin mens lives” out of petty insecurity. That’s some mindbending trying to get men off the hook. The book has nothing to do with willfully incompetent lawyers/police/judges that conspire to let another man get away with murder. 

Maybe people shouldn’t write novels based on what some low-life defense attorney might make of it some day. That would be a recipe for lots of boring books.

Maybe this is a reason not to write novels that contribute to cultural misunderstandings of violence against women? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Overrated? sure. Awful? no. Flynn is a damn good writer. Sharp Objects will always be my favorite.
