University lecturer here - ours bans it in writing because it is sometimes inaccurate or not in depth enough for the level they are supposed to be learning at. We also ban dictionary definitions actually. That’s not to say students can’t use wiki as a personal referencing tool to help them start to get their head

I think they meant they won’t be out in public but they also said no visitors so who knows. But it’s a Chinese tradition to do a similar thing: mom and baby aren’t supposed to leave the house for a month and there’s a particular diet you have to follow. I don’t know the rules on visitors.
