It's not a perfect example, but I remember when something like Sailor Moon was made by a woman for young women and girls. Now it's just men making making moe/loli stuff nonstop, taking every possible route to justify or otherwise play dumb to the questionable nature of their latest half-naked adolescent girl

So in this game our male characters have the option to marry a preteen girl, but *not* another grown-ass man?

Yup! I used to own the DS version, and apparently Matrix had to downsample or otherwise simplify the remake's soundtrack to fit and play in real time off of a DS cart. The music in the PSP version is the higher quality synth that anyone can find off of the official soundtrack sold in stores.

And higher quality sound samples and textures.

I'd hardly want to get into Berserk. I personally don't think the author is doing much in the name of artistic expression when he can't be bothered to end a single narrative he's been constantly publishing new chapters for over the last 20 years.

It's like Japan's entire entertainment industry is focused on entertaining these forever alone manchildren instead of the average, mentally well-balanced folks who just want something that doesn't insult their intelligence.

Ditto.

And it's always teen girls, as if the people who make these sorts of things are physically incapable to anthropomorphize them as male or an even mix between the two. It's always glowing, blushing, crying teen girls and I wish after seven years we could have more than one anime style to choose from.

I personally loved how Gen. III and Gen. V were *very* speedy compared to other generations, and especially how you can just hammer your way through all the text in Black and White, without getting bogged down in five seconds of the game describing to you with words the torrent of water you already saw getting

I liked this Prince too, albeit for the shallow reason of his being *hella* cuter than all the other Princes in the series combined. Yes, even Chesty Jake can't that smexy beast up there.

It's quality, my fellow Kotaku reader. We plebeians just can't realize it is all.

I agree. I just can't get used to huge contrast there is between visiting medieval castles one minute and magical high technology powering a giant cybernetic soldier of destruction the next.

It's too bad it has become such a trend, and a profitable one at that. Does it not occur to them to think for a moment "Have I done something to be shunned? Is it within my power to improve or make some concessions within reason?" rather than "What's that 3D bitch's problem!? There's zero reason for her to be so

Ew. Ew. Ew. Ew. Ew.

No surprise that something from XII is the subject of this post. XIII never knew the definition of art, much less subtlety.

I've heard your name dropped a few times. Taught manga artist "est em", right? Do you personally see more artists like her in the making, or was she unfortunately an anomaly in what appears to be a largely patriarchal industry?

It just arrived in my mail and my hair's a mess! Gotta look my best!

So hawt.

I think Paranoia Agent had this "I don't want to be a responsible adult, I want to live in an oasis of comforting mascots and delusion instead of dealing with the really tough stuff in life" theme going on in relation to this very issue.

The developer could squeeze in some more boss variety by just having it "transform" into new ones as the game goes on. We all know Sephiroth and his ilk couldn't get enough of that back in the day.
