I think the whole “is it possible to get along?” question is not getting any easier to answer. Increasingly awful people are getting increasingly good at getting “their guys” in positions of authority.

If the XMen mythology is, at least in part, an exploration of whether a minority can co-exist with an ignorant,

I know the people in power have taken inspiration from Man Of Steel for some of the fights/actions scenes, while not MoS, the Rogue v Bastion fight was straight out of the final episode of Justice League Unlimited and the Superman v Darkside fight.

I mean, X-Men has been going on for a pretty long while, and if certain writers have occasionally “answered” the question of whether Magneto or Xavier is right, it would seem that they’re still somehow asking it today. It’s almost as though it’s a question with no finite and concrete answer, not to mention it’s the

I thought for sure we’d get an Onslaught tease after the mind-meld, and am wondering now between the Apocalypse Wars/ Days of Future Past stuff they’ve teed up if they’ll skip it altogether... then again, they merged a helluva lotta arcs into this first season, and I did notice that shot of the car radio tuned to

I thought it was a great episode. Rogue’s beatdown of Bastion felt cathartic. Beast’s line, “Ah, the Greeks did love horses… and irony.” Got a good laugh out of me. The showrunners really managed to keep the stakes constantly raising.

I’m on Bluesky and I find it underwhelming and rarely use it. That said, I think one big reason why Jack is turning on Bluesky is because the the app has become the choice for progressive intellectuals, artists, and pro-science users (i.e., not anti-vax). This must really annoy Jack and I’m all for it.

Dorsey’s opposition to moderation is straight up idiotic. Nobody wants to be in a community without any sort of moderation, or at least nobody else wants to be in a community with the people who want that.  Like if a physical store didn’t kick people out for crapping in the aisles, then that would be a store that

It’s pretty good for news type folks. Lots of the people I use to follow are on there now, both reporters and respected experts. And with Bluesky’s mod tools, they’re much more likely to engage with you if that’s your thing because its easier for them to get rid of trolls.

“Guy who made a career of taking credit for others’ work before going off the rails, likes guy who made a career of taking credit for others’ work before going off the rails

Weird guy.

Agreed. My two main concerns with it were that lack of people you mention (driven in part by a relative lack of features that are slowly being brought on, like DMs, GIFs, and hashtags) and the fact that Dorsey was involved.

Twitter with moderation is a pretty ringing endorsement for Bluesky imo.

Bluesky is fine, there’s just not enough people there. They just need to make it an exact Twitter clone with the features renamed, so everybody can use it the same. If everybody just switched over from Twitter, we could all tell Muskrat to kick rocks and it would turn into Parlor in no time

Every time I hear a tech bro espouse ‘decentralization’ it usually equates with ‘bullshit’.

Dorsey is such a tool. As his choice of who he’s following illustrates.

Yikes.

He sounds like an idiot.

I would love it if they brought back StreetPass.

Yeah, the battle at the end was amazing, and it was kind of shocking to see an American cartoon series knock off a bunch of familiar and niche  characters like that (paging Roy Fokker) in one swoop.

While trying to protect Leech? It was German, and the subtitles translated it as “Don’t be afraid.” or something close to that. Which fit the moment perfectly.

That was quite an exit he made, wasn’t it? I wish there was a little more to defeating the sentinel than that, but it was still a great send off.
