Female characters wearing pants -that reach the ankles-? I'm having trouble believing this was made in Japan.
It was refreshing to have the "idiot" of Xenoblade's party simply be a person of average intelligence amongst geniuses and veterans. He was not only completely self-aware about the fact but knew his strengths lied in taking knocks meant for others, all without getting mopey about it.
I blame Motomu Toriyama. He relies on emotion manipulation rather than quality prose. His characters talk too much, talk too unnaturally, have unbelievable motivations and hesitations, and will wax philosophical about anything and everything, even if they're only 14 or whatever, because we all know teenagers are…
You haven't made a new game with a good story for a few years now, Square. Maybe you should make a new game with a good story now, Square? You really ought to make a new game with a good story now, Square.
The voice acting sounds pretty darn mediocre from where I'm sitting.
I don't care for Halo one lick, but I can respect Microsoft for not being coy about what it is we are seeing.
I love how well-done these Photoshop article headers are, no joke.
The Stray Sheep bar/restaurant in Catherine. Granted you're shepherded there at regular intervals like the sheep you are, but the single place in the game where you have some agency to linger and aren't in a mindset of mortal peril was always a welcome respite.
Plus, I tend to give leeway for games with mediocre gameplay if they have well-done or very entertaining stories. Conversely, a game with completely phenomenal gameplay will only attract my attention if the story is minimal, non-existent, or isn't offensively horrible, pandering bullpucky. Rarely does great gameplay…
The analogue sticks make a big difference in comfort, and the game's writing's pretty sharp and funny to boot. I think it even won the Writers Guild of America's first award for video game writing back in '07.
I don't quite get your drift. You saying that my playing it is a good or bad thing?
I'm going to play Dead Head Fred on my Vita.
At least Lollipop Chainsaw displays self-awareness with a line like "We wear our vaginas with pride". This though? This reminds me why I play fewer and fewer games made exclusively in Japan.
I know it would be counter to why the game was made in the first place, but is there a traditional control scheme as an option?
Fair enough. Just struck me as odd that one of the few times this color thing would even be an issue, and for a main installment of a core Nintendo franchise at that, and Nintendo somehow didn't view it as worth the resources.
Here's another way to look at it: Does Nintendo really want it's only downloadable Metroid game (not counting the limited access Metroid Fusion) to remain in black and white, that they couldn't be bothered to go the extra mile for one of their core series when a nearly perfect colorized version was already made by…
That was it, thank you!
When a new game is started and throughout at certain loading screens and chapter markers, there is a narration of an old Artyom in retrospect.
I'm hoping this isn't a repeat of the massive disappointment in the game of Dead Island after we saw the stark contrast to it's heart-wrenching trailer.
