I find I can put up with mediocre gameplay if the game's story is good. Nier and Rule of Rose were some examples of that, at least to me.

Now, I messed with the sound and brightness settings to make Dead Space 2 less scary, turning it into a great action game for me. That said, the characters felt a little more realistic and easy to emotionally invest in compared to the meat locker man-children of Gears of War.

I had to pick a screenname on the spot when my family got AOL, and thus the internet, for the first time back in 1995 or so. Now we all picked handles based off our last name, Cook (because hey, putting your last name out there on the internet will -never- come back to bite you in the butt). So, I took what I liked

Can... can you please just move on, Sony?

Also, aside from Isabela's outfit, seeing the color blue more than once or twice in DA2 would have been a hoot.

Actually -show us- all those trinkets the characters keep handing each other in cutscenes, bother to animate them. I hear that's the only reason why Anders' cat wasn't in the game, because they just couldn't be bothered to make a new model for it, or even reuse an old one from DA:O.

Why not have the characters age or change outfits more often? The game takes place over seven years, for crying out loud, and only half your party go bust out the wardrobe by joining an order or getting wooed by Hawke.

I wish DA2 was set in a sandbox-ish environment. Let me walk from Hightown to Lowtown and then to the docks! What do the city gates -actually- look like? Why aren't there any connecting areas to gracefully transition from Kirkwall to Sundermount, like a big field I have to pass through on the way? L.A. Noire and

I bought Ar tonelico 2. I guess I just grew up between playing the original and its sequel, because it was just about the most sexist piece of moe garbage I had ever laid eyes on. I mean, you had to peep on your female party members while they were bathing for them to level up. WUT. Not even good spritework in flashy,

Those first two seconds sold me.

I remember when Persona didn't have to pull maid cafe bull to be well-liked.

The gay community wrote Fear Effect 2 off as titilation only, and I'd have to agree on that. It was a focus of the ads at the time, if I recall.

Because the character has already been established as straight in the first ten seconds of the trailer. Simply put, I'm sick and tired of having to sometimes pretend the characters I play as are gay, and I don't think I have to be doing it in the first place.

Even though it has waned in recent years, Japan still commands a noticeable share in the vidoegame market. We should start asking the hard questions on what that money goes on to fund. Gamers here can so easily swear to boycott based off of comments made by Phil Fish on modern Japanese games or outright homophobic

It's really worrying how these things keep getting made. I mean, back in the day Sailor Moon had teenage girls in miniskirts with pink and hearts everywhere, but they had personalities and masculine traits too. I mean, it is ultimately a kids' show/comic/whatever, but it also taught half-decent life-lessons on being

Echoes of a wife or female lover speaking to him, longing for him. I promise if that was a man wanting him to "hurry home" as it would "put his heart at peace" for all of four seconds of the trailer, it would be a headline here on Kotaku.

Oh nice, the queer raises his voice and mysogynistic insults are immediately brought out. Yeah, because gay guys are 100% interchangible with women, that all women and queers are screechy and annoying.

That's really offensive and homophobic bullcrap coming out of your mouth right there. Go clean it up off the floor.
