So I spent over a year looking for a new daily and now have a Camry SE with the four and I admit it - I really like the thing. It’s also the last of the group I drove because I honestly didn’t even consider it when I started out. Honestly, it shocked me how much I liked it, with upgraded rubber it handles good, has

After seeing this, I hope I’m not the only one who just moved the Tacoma to the top of my list..

I think about my teenage years, and I wonder what the hell my dad was thinking when he bought me a big block powered ‘68 Galaxie for my first car.

This is more it. I just picked up a four year old Camry SE that’s basically loaded for $10k from a GM dealership. Because it’s a four cylinder and nobody wants them. For me it’s a great cheap DD, so I jumped on it.

Ok she asks for reliable and you recommend... a Volvo, Alfa, Bentley and GM product? I mean... really guys? Really?

Had a 94 LS that I bought on a whim, complete with the 2.5 V6 and a manual. One of my favorite cars ever, I still regret selling that thing.

When I picked the Honda Odyssey for the new family vehicle it wasn’t because it was the cheapest in the segment, or because it was the most capable, the most power and damn sure not the best looking. It was because the thing has the highest ongoing safety rating for the size of vehicle. It may be slow, heavy, and ugly

Caveat with warranties, ONLY do a manufacturer supplied certified pre-owned warranty or a Carmax warranty. There are a ton of warranty products out there, and none of them are very good. High deductibles, insane requirements like having to go to certain shops and only covering certain parts are the rule not the

Well this is fantastic news to me, I’ve been planning to have ~$1m to retire, not including assets (house will be paid off and we will be debt free at that point). I know inflation is a thing to be aware of, but since I live in the midwest I’m fairly positive I’ll be sitting pretty. And my whole plan of being able to

I actually did the same thing. When my wife and I were getting our first house together, I sold my beloved 1968 Galaxie 500 (first car!) to help buy stuff for the kids, deposit, etc. Sometimes I can still smell and hear that 390.

Back when I was younger, I may have (cannot confirm nor deny) done some crazy stuff on the rural b-roads of Kansas in GM box trucks. You know, full ton vans with the back chopped off and a big box? With dual rear wheels?

Minivan (odyssey ex-l) all the way, and the thing turns into a rolling network on trips. Two hotspots (Sprint and Verizon), three laptops, two iPads and two iPhones for three kids. And a power strip, thank everything for the built in inverter.

Oh yeah, well my F-150 can.... get to 88 in about that time with loud noises and lots of serious stuff happening along the way.

I’m looking at the Focus ST right now for that very reason.

I totally would, in fact I’ve oft considered it. Later LT-1 equipped cars are shockingly downright reliable and a lot of fun for what they are plus being pretty cheap these days. If I didn’t have kids to carry around it would be a no-brainer.

You just described every four cylinder VTEC Honda I’ve owned or driven, ever. Including my current Accord, which is fine down low - don’t get me wrong - but it definitely wakes up in the high 3’s.

I hate to admit how much I want this thing. Maybe a Focus ST to tide me over for a couple years... and then.. NONSENSE!

Crack pipe. A 328i is just as good for half the price. Or I’ve seen Focus ST’s in that ballpark with half (or less) of the miles.

Credit union all the way, and find something you can get for under book value. My credit took a big hit after some medical nonsense, but I was easily able to get a loan through a local credit union on a new Odyssey. In six months my credit has jumped 200 points and gone from “poor” to “very good”.

Can confirm, just bought a ‘98 Accord EX to ferry kids during the summer and save the gas guzzling toy of a f-150 for a song. Seller wanted it gone because it would barely start, rode rough, AC “didn’t work” and ran rough. Oh and it was really ugly and dirty.
