-An iPad mini can easily be replace (for cheaper) by an android phone which not only works as a tablet, but also as a phone. Have to think multi purpose. I think that's your biggest issue here.

I'm surprised it wasn't brought up yet; I'm a web and app developer and I carry both an iOS and android phone for work. Not because I need two phones to contact people; but because we test our sites on multiple platforms and that includes both iOS and android.
