While I agree with you, I think creating the cards your self is a big step in the learning and memorization process..possibly the increased time studying the notecards that a student previously spent making the note cards, will prove to balance out? Who knows.

I've had an ipad 1 since launch day. Use it at minimum 15 hours a week, and i still get 9 hours of charge out of it. I imagine newer ipads will be even better at this.
