I’ve done two years in the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, the best for engineering, public and based in Barcelona. I’ve only spent 380€ ($405) because I don’t have economic resources, if not, it would have been around 5,000€ ($5,320) for TWO years. I don’t even understand why is so expensive in the USA.

But god forbid we have affordable healthcare.

I thought all lawyers used wordperfect

Wow. Fuck that guy.

Wow. Can you report that to anyone at work?

Absolutely. That’s another reason we’re doing it.

This makes United seem almost unbelievably incompetent. Why were people allowed to board if they knew not all of them were going to be on the plane? Denying someone boarding is way easier than asking someone who’s sitting down to get off.

Nah, that’s not it. Germany just has a long history of high quality overdubbing and is only slowly abandoning it. After WWII pretty much no one in Germany spoke “the language of the enemy” and after a few years of economic comeback they were rich enough to afford the luxury of dubs instead of subtitles so they did.

I’m fluent but what Captain Contrarian said, sometimes the mixing _sucks_ and at the end of the day I am still a ESL and a mumbling actor who is mixed too quiet to a loud background or big important music really kills any joy I might get out of the movie.

Only 70% of the German population are counted as English speakers, and only a subset of them are actually fluent. Many of the children watching the movie aren’t going to be fluent enough to understand everything, and outside of urban areas, fluency of the general population will be much lower.

mhm not sure where you were, but most people’s english in germany isn’t good enough to actually follow a movie in english. And they’re also not used to reading subtitles. A lot of people don’t really come across english in their day to day life. But those who do prefer by far to watch movies in english (when it’s

Well, that is not random. English, German, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and Dutch are all Germanic languages.

Swedish is also a Germanic language, so that’s why.

I can go further and explain stupidity. I have to meet same safety standard as high rise residential building. So little toddler protectors on electrical sockets, power off buttons every 15 cm or so.

My main takeaway here is that Teen Vogue is not letting nobody get away with NOTHING. And now that there’s finally a more-than-just-decent major fashion rag out there, it went to bimonthly and may merge with the largely content-ruined Allure, *sob* (still grateful to have it at all, though)

Are we supposed to look up to a speculator who makes a living reselling clothes and not generating anything of value? Is wealth alone a measure of one’s validity and worth? Why is it admirable to con people out of money? Seems pretty cynical.

He said 1998.

“Jerry, take off your clothes and fold yourself 12 ways.”

I want that f-ing McNugget sauce. I don’t want to put that Hoisin or Sichuan stuff, I want that f-ing McNugget sauce.
