Nobody buying something with a Cadillac badge  needs a tax break. Especially not a $7,500 tax break.

bro this is different. they build the extra power into the vehicle from the factory and put the extra power behind a paywall. It’s like buying a dewalt 20vMAX drill from the store but it only operates at 12v unless you pay extra money to “unlock” 20V mode.

Manufacturers don’t give two poots about who buys a vehicle used. As far as they are concerned those owners are NOT their customers. Being able to hold features like this behind a paywall essentially allow OEMs to generate revenue from 2nd,  3rd,  ect. owners.

That’s a good point. If batteries were that cheap then the power company would just build their own auxiliary battery plant for storing excess electricity that does not get used. Power company w would not need to buy electricity from their end users anymore

Okay, but you would be buying off peak electricity at retail price and selling on peak electricity at wholesale price ( your selling your power to the power company who is then re-selling it to their customer) How much profit are you going to actually make?

I agree I just don’t know what Honda would do differently ... all new platform that is more rigid and hopefully a little less weight .. add all wheel drive .. Honda doesnt really have a “large vehicle” hybrid in their lineup the MDX hybrid system is out of date by now. They could do a detuned type R engine like

republicans say they are against “big government” unless it’s a republican government then you have NOTHING to worry about.

why does everyone Just assume people will want their cars to provide power to the grid? That’s MY  electricity don’t you dare take it! It also seems pointless, like okay i’ll give the power back now .. but i’ll need it again later so i’m just going to take it right back.  Also, doesn’t charge and discharge cycles

What they call the car is Marketing. People are actively shopping for “crossovers” yet there is no actual rule or definition as to what a crossover actually is. The first gen toyota Venza was marketed as a “wagon” and sales were abysmal even though it was just a decontented Lexus RX crossover which b is Lexus’ highest

1992 lexus sc400. LOTS of low end torque, zero traction or stability control. At least you have abs brakes on all four corners. It is very long and very low so easy to get high centered, and for some dumb reason lexus decided not to give the v8 “sports coupe” a limited slip differential. Only the manual transmission

I was thinking mini ev until op said they did not want to deal with bmw ever again

Good choice!

The contact patch is narrow but because the wheels are so large the contact patch is longer so the amount of rubber touching the road is similar to a 215 width on a 17inch inch wheel

thats what were doing now. cartoons as concept cars.. cool.

Most toyota hybrids has a “power mode” that will always combine the electric engine and the gas engine and will only put the gas engine to sleep at a stop light or going down a steep hill. its a Hoot under 30mph  but on the highway it’s nearly pointless.

Hopefully this will place the smackdown on dealership greed. Hopefully the feds can find something on autonation, carmax, and other giant conglomerate auto dealers for violation of anti trust laws.  Seriously EVERY dealership is going to add a $5,000 dealer adjusted markup on a honda civic .. hmmm..

your premise is not actually wrong but your example is flawed. Ioniq 5 has a 118 inch wheelbase and the golf has a 104 inch wheelbase. the Honda CRV has a 104 inch wheelbase. Literally the only thing the government is using to differentiate a “car” from a “light truck” is GVWR. The real question is why are we giving

the prime model specifically is. I would not consider the rest of the rav4 lineup “best.” All the other automakers are playing catch up with a plug in hybrid suv.  or trying to get consumers to go full electric.

the GM hybrid trucks were actually good their customers just had zero interest in them. Making the hybrid drivetrain standard equipment and not an option is the way to go. The biggest thing about hybrids is that if you are a lead foot you will not really get any real benefit out of them you have to drive a hybrid like

I think the biggest issue with toyota vehicles especially their trucks is that their customers are not cross shopping competitors. Toyota has a monopoly on their customers. Also, Assuming toyota did sell a “best in class” vehicle Toyota would not be able to increase production to meet demand. the toyota Rav4 Prime is
