Jalopnik has been very open about these “what car should I buy” posts being super delayed by about 6 months.  this is actually for entertainment purposes only.

Passport was going to be my suggestion as well!

agreed! Traveled the area doing IT out of my prius and fit so much crap in there! My boss had a grand cherokee and he could fit only marginally more stuff mostly because the ceiling is taller and he had a roof rack to put large ladders on top.

This car was the peak of this era of Cadillac’s styling. This car is more cool than it is fast but it is very cool.  But sadly every bad thing you ever heard about the northstar v8 is true.  While there are a good number of people who never had any problems with theirs the failure rate is just too damn high to drop

61k is actually a fantastic price considering a rav4 prime is over 50k!

i was driving 80 and nissan versa passed me...... eventually on the interstate. People will speed no matter how slow their cars are! if anything making them less capable makes them less safe!

150 shot of nitrous is all you need!

well there is an aftermarket and there is wishing the car had a different engine, or transmission or completely reengineered in a way that the aftermarket is not going to be able to do at any sort of reasonable cost.  If you tried to turn a civic SI into the type R using aftermarket parts it would not be as good and

yeah people are paying 150k+ for 10 year old 911s on bring a trailer daily there is clearly a hole in the market for expensive new cars that auto manufacturers are not listening to!

the trailblazer is a better platform but yeah. my vote was for a sportie trailblazer with the 2.5t from the acadia and about 2 inches more lift and slightly taller/wider tires. and kind of tune it for like a rally/drive dirt roads at speed but also very controlled on the street.

i saw a guy on youtube who has a couch in the background and he calls it his “tax write-off couch” anything he wants personally he buys and then puts it in the background of a video and then he says he can write off the items as a business expense because it was in the background on the one video. No idea if that is

I don’t think this guy could afford it. he bought it as a business expense hoping to make “content” with it and then flip it and hopefully the $$ from “content” was greater than the $$ he lost on the car depreciation. So many automotive influencers go this route and they are not concerned about what kind of risk that

this is also trade in value ... Tesla is going to resell this at a hefty markup!

to be fair Nasa themselves have had several very public and very catastrophic incidents of their own. But it is much easier to absorb that risk (financially) when you are taxpayer funded. When you have to answer to shareholders very public catastrophes like that has huge effects on your business and/or your

Ok i am legit a huge tire nerd. But i will admit that Tires are are more competitive than they every have been and as long as you get a name brand tire in the category that fits your needs it is very hard to go wrong. tires have to do so many things, Steering response, dry grip, wet grip, snow traction , noise ,

i’m torn, Props to Ford for building a nice car but I feel like they should be penalized for building the car in china and selling it in the usa. Everyone is wanting protectionist tariffs on the Chinese automakers but somehow Ford/GM gets a pass on building in China? Why?

the fact that it was possible to install it backwards is a fuck up on GMs part.  anything that can go wrong will go wrong!

I’ll bite. The Chevy Trailblazer needs a hot model. give it the 2.5T engine from the Traverse. half an inch more ride hight. a bit taller/ wider tires. and some better body control and a limited slip rear diff (and/ front diff maybe). It could slot into something like the range rover evoque a very sporty soft roader

most likely they used the ford focus as the Guinea pig to see if something like this works before they implement it onto a vehicle that they actually care about like the F150, explorer. or mustang.

Problem: Owners never service a part
