this is odd. Why can’t a 4 cylinder meet emissions in a small car? What engine would they put in a larger crossover like a Sante `Fe?

late 98s sebring convertible. it was hilarious how s low this car was. I hope something was wrong with the engine but it drove like a battleship. It felt like it took 12 seconds to get to 50mph i don’t think it ever made it to 60 while we were driving it. 

The compass and the Cherokee has way too much price overlap and they are too close in size. I think the compass is just   Cannibalizing the Cherokee, especially so since the Compass was very recently refreshed and the Cherokee hasnt received any updates in years.

Mississippi and Louisiana roads are fucking trash I could not exist there and drive a sedan. (source live in Alabama and visit frequently in my Hyundai Elantra and Toyota Prius) 

Personally I think that the Toyota Crown is a great choice and that is what I would recommend it seems like a lot of car for the money, however the car is new and I have no idea if you actually CAN get one for 50 grand due to dealer markups i’m sure these will be a hot item next year.

this is true, everyone needs their cars at the same damn time. Hense traffic.  If people all drove at different times there would be no damn traffic and this would work. 

Toyota 1uz-fe. this single engine launched the entire lexus brand and also the country of Japan into the Luxury car segment in the usa.  It runs forever, is certified for Aviation use, and has amazing NVH.

I read that the current awd prius the rear motor only turns on below 18 mph it’s more about getting you going from a stop. Curious if the new version is any different. 

I drive a 2014 prius and i love my car. One of the anoying things is how many turns lock to lock on the steering wheel.  The steering wheel feels like your driving a bus but in such a small car its just wierd. Hopefully the new prius steering wheel is more “normal” rotations.

dealers made “record profits” over the last two years. And also ford is trying to make a new brand out of “model e.” Ultimately the courts will decide but I can see ford having a strong case. OEM’s can basically require dealers to tear down their whole building and rebuild it to meet their new “standards” Ive seen it multiple times where dealerships have to massively remodel their buildings to meet the new Look Honda, Lexus, Chevy, Toyota, ect are going for. you are right that scalping is  not a good reason for an oem to raise prices. But people forget that scalpers is one of the main reasons why dealers are charging markup and pretend like dealerships being forced to sell at msrp will solve the problem but scalpers will just buy all the cars at msrp and mark them up…

Replacement ev batteries are much more expensive than $3000. $3000 does not even buy you a new battery in a hybrid toyota prius. The Mustang mach E battery costs $24,000 to replace.
