That’s the difference between Republicans and Democrats. Republicans are GREAT at turning out their base. Democrats don’t care about their base at all. What they really want are “moderate Republicans” who they always wind up courting, and then leave the base behind, then complain that the people they ignore don’t turn

Sure, but Obama approached her in 2014, long before the primary had started. I think everybody expected Trump to lose in 2016 (even Trump himself), but this was before the 2014 midterms.

Then maybe Hillary should have tried courting them instead of Republicans she thought were turned off by Trump.

Hillary lost because she was an awful candidate who ran on expecting to win, didn’t bother campaigning in Michigan, Wisconsin or Pennsylvania, ignored her state campaign teams when they begged her for resources in those states, pandered to conservatives instead of appealing to her base, and then got caught skirting

Nevada had some of THE strictest laws in the nation about weed, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see some of their law enforcement still holding some old notions about people’s weed usage.

I mean, that’s Clarence Thomas for you. Openly ruling on cases explicitly involving his wife’s text messages, even as the lone dissenter. He doesn’t care. He didn’t spend 30 years sleeping his way to the top for nothing.

It’s not about ideology, it’s about turning out the base. This is a thing that Republicans generally do very well, and Democrats don’t care very much about at all.

People think that culture wars are a thing that ends at some point. They think fascism is a thing that can be killed and won’t be resurrected. Or that you can stomp out racism and it’ll go away.

I WISH cancel culture was real just so we could shut up all the fuckers who keep whining about cancel culture. Like, cancel culture doesn’t exist. It can’t hurt you 😂

The people proposing the repeal and the people voting for it were always there. She was the firewall preventing it.

I think the SCOTUS ruling will bring a big political backlash, especially with the midterm elections coming up, so Dems in the Senate will be able to resist nationwide antiabortion rulings, but give Republicans a couple more election cycles to REALLY disenfranchise Democratic voters and they’ll get there eventually.

I despise the fact that conservatives constantly use Black people to support whatever awful idea they come up with. “I’m against abortion because what about all those Black babies!” Like they give one fuck about Black children, but a Black fetus is a fantastic tool of the state.

That war started decades ago when Republicans first started predicting demographics changes. They’ve been waging it for years. Most people are just starting to see it now.

It’s 1. They’re going after EVERYTHING. Once they overturn Roe v Wade they know people will take to the streets (they did last night). They have a window of time to wreck everything they can to prevent Dems from being able to do anything, and they need to do it now, they need to break it all, and they need to break it

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. ALL OF THIS is RBG’s fault.

While I’m sure there are a good number of conservatives who go to college, I doubt it will make up for the loss of those who are thinking about these issues

“Probably” bad is putting it lightly. It will be awful for women.

Considering their whole emphasis on their enemies being pedophiles and their penchant for projection, ‘nefarious fucking purposes’ is pretty much hitting the nail on the head

Nothing says ‘free speech’ like government enforced regulations on speech

That’s nice, it only took an international effort with a subsequent posting of MULTIPLE cases of white men actually intentionally casting illegal ballots and getting probation before they dropped her charges.
