I think the points you guys are making about this movie’s relationships to the 80's and its aesthetics are dead on, and have helped me put my finger on exactly something I’ve been trying to put my finger on about it. This film isn’t a parody of weird 80's gore movies, or a send-up, or a bunch of references to them

This is what they were supposed to look like in the movie.

The Batpenis issues are going to be worth SO much money now. Goddammit DC.

I mean, if Star Wars fan message boards and social media accounts are any indication, people want an Obi-Wan movie a lot. I personally prefer it be a boring twenty years on Tatooine doing mostly nothing, but there does seem to be a lot of fan interest.

The clearest split is between parts 2 and 3 - the fall of House Atreides, Paul’s arrival with the Fremen and his becoming one of them, ready to lead them against the Harkonnen is the first film...and then the second movie is the resistance against the Harkonnen and the Padishah Emperor.

No way. Sean Bean for Duke Leto, Oscar Isaac or Chiwetel Ejiofor for Duncan.

Can someone refresh my memory how we know he never did?

Pump up the world!

I think it’s genuine concern for Stan, as well as concern for their own mission - if she’s a Russian spy, she’s on the opposite side of the internal KGB conflict now from Phillip and Elizabeth.

Ugh now I’m crying again.

MIKHAIL JUNIOR!!! WHERE ARE YOU?!

I don’t think Paul Atreides and Irulan are a *good couple* in any sense but they’ve got a very interesting dynamic.

Wow you showed me.

I also thought it was probably Arnold’s persona, but part of me also wonders if it’s Ford’s, in preparation for the slaughter and the apparent dissolution of his personality into the entire park. (Can Ford’s personality possess any host?) In this scenario, the Ford who was shot wouldn’t be a host, but Ford would live

They usually operate in DC or nearby, and their excuse is more often that they need to go to the office to solve in issue, rather than that they need to meet with a client.

By “this decade later” I assume she means since the first Iron Man movie.

I don’t think there’s been a moment Stan has thought Phil and Elizabeth were normal, it’s just that, being spies, they’re very good at covering their tracks. Phil, especially, is adept at using real life things that actually are upsetting him to cover up when his mind is elsewhere or things are weird in this marriage.

T

They actually don’t routinely leave the DC area, and currently their cover is precisely that Elizabeth deals with corporate clients.

To be fair, Stan has always been able to tell that they were keeping something from him.
