The religious allusions are in the show because Jarden is full of really religious people, and a massive tension even in the first season was between a really widespread belief that the departures were a religious phenomenon and people who really, really, really don’t believe that.

I’m fascinated by this POV, because I don’t think the plot of the show dwells on the question of what happened at all. None of the characters care about finding out, or are actively investigating it, so it’s not really a question for the show.

And more to the point: Sam believes that the system is screwed up, and should be held accountable. Given the whistleblower situation, Steve sees that the guy broke the law by exposing secrets, but Sam is disturbed by the secrets.

Whenever it’s set, I’d love to see a show set primarily in the Academy.

Steve Rogers believes in upholding the law, while Sam Wilson believes Captain America should be above it.

But it’s not a twist, because the entire movie exists in this weird inbetweeny magical-realist space. She sees the blood in the book before her mom goes into labor, the hemlock root changes shape, etc.

It’s interesting, I never think of these as “twists.” There are a number of instances in Pan’s Labyrinth where the magic appears to be more than simply imaginary, as well as a number of instances where an alternate explanation is possible, and yet at the **SPOILERS** Ofelia is dead and the faun is nowhere to be seen -

It’s probably clearer to think of it as a religious schism. Maul was replaced as apprentice, but then declared himself Sith Lord with Savage Oppress as his apprentice. So now there’s two Sith Lords, each with an apprentice, and each claiming the other one is illegitimate. Palpatine solves that problem.

And the novels published within the past two years or so, as well as the new Marvel comics.

What episode is this from? I love this.

Hate to break it to you, but I don’t think Asajj will be showing up in Rebels...

My draft of the script would basically be full of lines like, “My, how Japanese you look today.”

I mean Scarlett Johansson is starring.

Threepio’s specialty is human/cyborg relations. He’s good at talking to humans, and cyborged humans - in other words, he’s a droid intended to interact with non-droids.

It looks like it’s built into a planet.

This stuff is so funny. Reminds me of The Vader Sessions.

What a good looking bear. That’s the biggest issue I have with this. Disney does animals really really well. These are ugly as sin.
