I guess the salient piece there is merely that the reason they are 100% the same as Lynch's designs is because, at the beginning, the CCG was 100% based on Lynch's film. I recommend looking at his other pieces - equally beautiful, but much more original. I love his Fremen.
It wasn't a ripoff, they were just basing the game off of the movie until they were told that actually wasn't going to work out after all.
