I really liked this show. It was over-the-top like Glee, but it was also much smarter and more focused. Also, more John Stamos!

chic little extendable applicator

I have spent five whole minutes trying to see how a knee-trigger would work. I knew it was a typo, but I still wanted to figure it out.

This outfit is ridiculous and I love everything about it.

Right? If anyone can pull off peplums, it's the guys at Deadspin.

I've wondered the same. Of course, the difference between "really ugly" and "not fitting local cultural ideals of beauty" can be very hard to parse. Before I saw the casting, I imagined her with androgynous or masculine facial features, although I love Gwendoline Christie in the role and don't mind that she's changed

Are we sure this isn't actually Regina from Once Upon a Time, just with less dramatic makeup? That evil smile is uncannily familiar. Also the overtones of "I hate all of you and all the fun you are having stop it STOP IT NOW."

I am honored! Also, I promise to try very hard not to be a dipshit. Nerdy pedant, maybe; dipshit, never.

It looks like she's taller than the others, so maybe she's in flats so they'll look more uniform?

Skeuomorphic!

The pop-up comment box really doesn't seem to work properly (for me, anyway. And I'm on Chrome, not, like, IE or something). Whenever I move it to try to see the comment I'm responding to, the comments scroll randomly to the side so I can't see it.

It's especially bad in conjunction with how long it takes to scroll through comments-no one's going to bother going all the way to the back to see if anything's worth reading. Particularly when the recent comments are greyed out and there's a "here there be monsters" warning before you get to actually read them.

"Tabloid" is a good analogy—all the giant images with occasional stories make is slow going, and it's clear that the focus is on, well, gawking rather than reading.

Oh, shit. I've been dreading this since it infected io9. Infinite scrolling is a terrible idea that makes the site more time consuming to navigate (and it's hard on computers with slightly less processing power), it's a pain in the ass to get to older comments, because you can only see 2 discussions at once, and

Haha, I actually really loved Soy's work on it. Rios I didn't like at all. Andrade has grown on me, because I love how kinetic his bodies are, but I find his faces pretty irredeemable. To each his own, I suppose.

I think you're exactly right about the "clutter" problem. All the layers and bulky boots and weirdly clashing colors kind of make it hard to appreciate a project that's really cool in theory.

I am a full-service feminist: I both critique existing media's problems and celebrate/financially support its more awesome moments.

YES. It wasn't really his fault; the writing on that story line was abysmal. Still, it'll never stop being the first thing I associate him with.

Well, I like him on Mad Men, but whenever I see a picture of him, my first reaction is, "Angel's annoying son! Do not want!" So my feelings about him balance out to a sort of, "meh," and I'd probably not bother approaching any celebrity if I didn't have something nicer than that to say.

FUCK yes.
