Well, no-one expected it except infectious diseases specialists and public health experts based on just about every previous pandemic.

Now playing

Wow, the person responding to you is so typical of boomer mentality - condescending, patronizing, eager to shit on the younger generations, and generally so full of themselves and their own importance. Fucking hypocrites and sellouts, perfectly exemplified by this scene:

How about all the people who couldn’t be bothered to vote for Hillary because she wasn’t Bernie or she didn’t excite them, or whatever.

Let’s also stop pretending that the Biden Administration = congress.

The die was cast the moment RBG decided she needed to be replaced by the first woman President. She exercised some poor judgment, and her legacy now includes having been the first domino to fall in what will probably end up being the most conservative SCOTUS in decades at a time when the democratic foundation of the

Biden is overwhelmingly, aggressively committed to doing as little as possible as president.

Please no.

The US got exactly what it wanted out of its occupation of Afghanistan for decades — staggering amounts of wealth transferred to the military, defense contractors, and mercenary groups, continual justification for increased defense budgets, and a steady supply of dark money for our intelligence services via resumed

I don’t think this piece gives too much power to feminists, per se, so much as it points out the easy/fundamental alliance between (white) Western bourgeois feminism and rapacious imperialism. Feminist lobbying did not make the US invade Afghanistan. It did, however, provide cover on the left (however you’d like to

US foreign policy doesn’t give a shit about women. It’s not why we invaded 20 years ago. Women’s rights were used beatify the argument, but invasion would have happened anyway.

This assigns too much importance to feminists. Afghanistan was never invaded to protect women or to appease western feminists. It was invaded to protect US National security and economic interests, period. Feminist lobbying would have had no bearing on the decision to invade Afghanistan either way.

I’m personally not too terribly excited about the marriage drama (of...well, any of them), and much prefer when The Crown focuses on the Queen’s diplomatic roles, among other things.

Turns out bombing people doesn’t turn them into feminists.

A guy who made low-key asshole his shtick for like 40 years is also an asshole in real life? Fetch my fainting salts.

Well yeah, “Bill Murray acts like an asshole to his costar” has been a recurring theme for more than 40 years.

Yeah exactly, this article is trying to have it both ways and it just comes off as incredibly hypocritical.

To all the purity police and apathetic douches who passed on voting in 2014 and 2016 this is on you.

Another round of drinks for all the “insufficiently inspired” blue voters who did their part to make this all possible back in 2016

Of course, he left his original Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comic dangling, at part two of a six part arc, for, let’s see, four years now.

Yeah, this guy is definitely going to crank out two more comic book series. Fans should absolutely count on that happening.

Sounds like the premise of an 80 minute flick, not an 8 episode series.
