It’s real alright. But this can easily be a prelude to a plea to “do something about it” and then present us with a very particular vision of what “something” should be.

Depends on the degree of manipulation.

I don’t know that we’re being mislead... but we could be. and being a civil war and all I could see why someone would want to mislead us... If there isn’t a way of confirmiing the veracity, it’s best to remain skeptical.

It’s surely happening, but I don’t see why we should willfully ignore that people tweeting about it, are probably trying to elicit a particular effect, and may be tweaking their message in a way that gives them the best chance.

If we’re being mislead about the source of the narrative... what else are we being mislead about?

Yes they are, and will likely continue to be, I don’t think this means ships will have to start permanently using diesel. If that’s the care, once refineries switch to producing low sulfur HFO or whatever, and sensitive parts have been replaced... the fuel itself shouldn’t be significantly more expensive.
