All I know is that a buddy who works in an auto plant told me not to buy a car made between Christmas and New Year because “guys start smuggling in their booze for that week in October.”

...at which point David saw a patch of bare grass, and thought “that needs a car sinking into it....welp, this ain’t a Jeep but here goes.....!”

Fun? FUN?!?

I had an 89 Thunderbird Supercoupe. They used platinum plugs in those because the factory service procedure was to drop the motor to change the plugs.

I did this in my “I’m so glad the bitch is gone” 97 540i6. One odometer bulb went, then another. $3 in bulbs and all was right with the odometer, if not anything else.

Congrats David. This is hands down my favourite of your fleet — it is different than the others, and more unique. It deservesto be saved in all its brown glory.

NP for sure.  In my area,I am not sure I can get an LS for $2500, let alone getting one with a Porsche for an extra thousand.

One of the most important tools that I have found for stuck and rounded bolts is.....

I love how BMW used to include a tool kit with their cars. It’s like they knew.....

Nice, but the finish reminds me too much of this....

This brings back memories 9f my dad’s 1972 Ford Ranch Wagon (aka “The Hearse” or “The Raunch Wagon”). Ex police equipment car, so it had all of the heavy duty goodies. Black with a dark blue vinyl interior. By the time I drove that thing to the dump when I was 16, it had 330k miles on it, and was more Bondo and

I could have a lot of fun with one of those as a hot rodding platform. Five speed swap, Mustang handling/braking/performance upgrades and some interior work, and one could have a very mean looking 80s luxo toy.

A question: you live in Michigan. Why continually buy cars that you know will, without a shadow of a doubt, rust out?

The person who stole the truck had a decent start to their plan, though according to what LAPD told CBSLA: they rode to the dealership on a bicycle, which he threw in the bed and then took the truck. That’s a very green way to steal a massive truck, you have to admit.”

Sorry, but I have to disagree with you here. I have done some stupid stuff in cars over the years, driven them when I shouldn’t have, and I have learned that it is bad to take your car’s brakes lightly.  Fix them right, with quality parts.  Stay safe and don't ram any minivans unintentionally.

Just a question, but have you ever considered POR-15 or getting it rustproofed every year?  Like actually trying to prevent it from getting worse?  Asking as a guy who had two cars with similar rot issues.

Basically any uptempo AC/DC works, as does any uptempo VH.

I have to go Toyota Sienna on this one. Easy enough to get in and out of, and the front seats at least are excellent when my back is giving me issues.

For a while after I bought my first and possibly only ill-fated dalliance with BMW, I had my SVT Contour sitting on my property waiting to be sold.

I want Mahk to do a detailed walkaround on this thing.
