YES. This is the best thing I have read on Jalopnik all day.

I hate to say it (no I don’t), but I really don’t give even the slightest, faintest of shits, not even an untrustworthy fart’s worth, about what obnoxiously wealthy people in other any countries buy.
I predict that Top Gear’s ratings will now go up faster than Chris Evans’ exposed willy in a Ginger Media Group meeting.
Porsche maybe?
I would watch the FUCK out of that show, holy shit.
...when the Aston runs.
That’s like.... not even a misplaced decimal point! Something stinks here.
Conclusions I’ve made:
I’d build mine just like this.
the fuck am I greyed here but nowhere else on Jalopnik?
Can I get a motorcycle that looks just about like this but ISN’T a Harley? Anyone?
I usually sell my used British cars to a CarMax just before the warranty expires so I can read Jalopnik articles about some other poor fucking bastard trying to keep them running under an extended warranty.
Until halfway through your sentence, I thought you were teaching class this way. You must be talking about the black socks and “athletic sandals” fad. I cannot comprehend it either.
I don’t know, as I’m not an engineer, but then you also run into one of the caveats Doug mentioned - it’s different from what people are used to. The advent of electronically-controlled gear selection in something other than a lever is relatively new in the car industry. I’m still getting used to the idea of a button…
What scale of wrong and sorry are we talking about here? Got-caught-shifting-an-automatic-like-a-manual wrong and sorry, or wearing-socks-and-sandals-in-public wrong and sorry?
My guess would have been because it’s one of the few places in the car that can be reached from the driver’s seat regardless of which side the steering wheel is on, maximizing parts sharing and limiting the necessity to re-engineer or adapt components.
Interesting observation. I have a related story. I was at an Import Lounge meet (a small, closely knit Atlanta-based gearhead community that used to include Rutledge Wood) in... I don’t know, 2005-2006ish maybe? It was a group of mostly Hondas and a few Nissans and the token Toyota or VW. This dude randomly shows up…
Why was this shared to Jalopnik!? I don’t give a crap who this guy is or what he does in his own car or what the functional condition of his junk is!
ARE YOU WATCHING ME?!
