The mental gymnastics in these comments of people who preference Warren but will never vote Bernie floor me, in much the same way as those who would vote Bernie but never Warren. It just seems like tribalism at this point, and I’m sad to see it amongst a crowd I usually respect.

Warren’s big mistake was all about healthcare.

The fact that Warren supporters are apparently flocking in droves to moderates like Pete and Amy shows they were never “in this fight” for the right reasons.

It’s kind of silly to argue that it’s sexism, when one of the beneficiaries of Warren’s “erasure” is Klobuchar. She’s been called the comeback kid after getting 3rd(!) in New Hampshire, which somehow overshadows Sander’s 1st place finish, at least for the media. So I’m going to think it’s something other than sexism.

In some ways, she’s back where she began.

But muh jerbs!’ is such a bullshit excuse. The executives at any private insurance company will simply pivot to other high-level roles in other industries and continue on in much the same way as they did before. As rich, bloodsucking assholes.

While on paper that is great because fuck private medical insurance companies, there are also a lot of people that work for those companies that would be out of a job.

This review repeatedly describes it as “Photorealistic” but that’s absolutely not what’s going on in the promo stills.

They had a really cool opportunity to go into the Yukon with a real dog and do a very good realistic version of this story but instead Disney chose the more expensive, soulless option

I just saw a commercial for this on TV, and in multiple scenes she looks like a version 1.0 of an android, one where they forgot to tint the skin tone as well.

That is just how Anya Taylor-Joy looks. If someone told me she was a highly advanced AI or cyborg I would totally believe it. They could have hired her to play Alita and not wasted any money on the CGI eyes.

For a country founded on electing our leaders so they are not treated like kings or gods we sure do love metaphorical hand jobs any chance we get. From giant statues to giant phalli, Battleships to libraries. We just love jacking these assholes off. Many owned slaves, Many more were racist and a lot were warmongers.

I’ll never understand how it’s completely fine for The US to waste trillions on Middle East Wars, border walls, kids in cages and tax cuts for the rich but won’t even bother to fund a universal healthcare system.

Gotta admit that I never liked these.   She had talent, of course.  But the style did not mesh with my mental images of the world at all.

We don’t really have a mechanism for nationwide referenda.

Exactly, where does this ‘free’ bs come from other than the Republicans’ way of turning voters off of a single-payer system?

The video mentions Medicare-for-all is a misleading title because there are still costs to Medicare, but that Bernie Sanders’ plan would eliminate all costs.

I mean I would be pretty mad too if an illustrator who didn’t even attempt to read the story was put in charge of the cover. Did she at least get initial instructions on what to draw?

I was never a fan of that art. Even as a 12-year-old, it was obvious to me the artist had never read the story.
