This is grossly inaccurate. The logic behind holding R2 then hitting a face button to use a skill is about a billion times more sensible than keybinding skills. To be honest looking at a FF14 player on PCs screen, with their 50 damn skills all in a massive rectangle at the bottom of the screen, gives me heartburn.

The funny thing is I've also heard the opposite complaint, that the game is tuned for PS4 (now PS5) to such an extent that it makes playing on PC worse. This is an odd one. The first game is so great because 1) it was a game built FOR the DS, for having two screens, and it was fantastic because of that. The remakes never did much for me. 2) the story ended up being fantastic, it had a great point and that point was made through the gameplay AND the story.
