What about Activision, 2K, EA, Ubisoft, who could give away their games or even at $30 and still make money because of MTX and yet they price at $69.99 because it’s “normal” now?
If it were just $70 or $80 or whatever for the cost of a game and you got the complete game, I’d mind a lot less.

A good chunk of effort for a game is in the assets... but also not the same cost structure for the original. I want to believe that remasters are more the exception, than the norm though.

profits are also at a record high and paychecks for the individual employees are not reflecting that. its all going to the corporate executives.
I am okay with this. Production costs for great games are high.
For every parent who’s an active gamer, there’s another five whose video game experience consists of playing Solitaire/Free Cell at work and/or Candy Crush on their phone.

If Ford wanted to charge Jiffy Lube a 30% royalty every time Jiffy Lube did an oil change on a Ford, it would be the same situation.
I will be evil for achievements/trophies, but will often reload to an earlier save point and continue playing something that is usually in the realm of “self-serving but empathetic towards people who give me quests”.
