There’s so much for me to unpack here, and while everybody is going to comment on the behavioral issues, I’m still on square zero, living under a rock...

I was always under the impression that the original intent of that message was to pre-empt possible criticism of the first Assassin’s Creed game... Once the precedent was set, there was no reason to get rid of the message.

I am not on Twitter and I did not know who Bernstein, Milonakis and Blue were until this article.

asking friends and family for comments they may want shared

I get that it’s an email... but milonakis and blue are already active on Twitter, right? They already confirmed what happened. They’re already engaged with their audience.

People are making jokes about his passing in his Twitch channel as we speak. Some people will just never develop empathy.

Hey... here’s to hoping it/representation/realness... gets better. I am happy that your last line in the article feels real for you... that all of this is a step towards something better. It’s easy for me to think “things are getting better”... but my assessment carries far less weight and meaning because I suffer

I appreciate the insights into the game mechanics. The fact that you can be engaged in another activity while “playing” and that a fight can happen at any time reminds me of a friend describing how he came to the decision to quit playing farmville. He was driving home, long commute from a client, and his phone

Thanks for explaining the multiplayer. That is... and isn’t a problem for me. I think for one of my kids, she’d absolutely love the idea that “dad and i are building this”... the other would be more along the lines of wanting her own island.

The rabbit hole... it goes deep.

You have a gaming pc at least?

“I think he thought she was messaging him because she was interested. Most men do”

I do like your take on it. Having empathy or remembering “I was once like that” doesn’t mean excusing the behavior. It’s an acknowledgement of “i understand how they got there” but it doesn’t mean “I think think they should continue acting that way”...

And I’d never kinkshame you for it. :)

There is never a villain, or a hero, in any eve stories. protagonists always end up being both, depending on who is telling the story.

This is an excessively long comment... it’s long because I’m trying to make sense of what happened in the Bunny exchange and trying to interpret it in the larger context of things. I’m trying to see things from both perspectives... so here goes...

Does the statement by the skullgirlz community have a lot of impact? Are they the only group that organizes skullgirlz competitions, or does that game often get included tournaments run by other groups?

Thanks for the description. I’m going to watch a few let’s play to see if it’s my cup of tea.
