I’d prefer someone who was less obviously white. Joe Manganiello is great, but super Italian, whereas Shadow... isn’t.

My thinking: “Oof, casting Shadow? That would be tough, unless it was someone like Jason Momoa. Oh. That was easier than I thought.”

I think I always pictured him looking more like Dwayne Johnson? Not nearly so handsome as Joe Manganiello. I love how people have different pictures in their heads after reading the same description. :)
