Others have said it, but I’m just gonna add my voice as one more 80s kid: the version of arcades that are presented in modern media (and often even the media of the decade itself) is incredibly idealized. They were great places in their own way, but if you weren’t in high school (or college) and went in at the wrong

Same age group as you (or close enough for horseshoes and hand grenades), and, yeah, truth. The idealized version of the decade that is presented in fictional works like Stranger Things necessarily elides some of the nastier parts of that time period—to include the fact that arcade culture, while absolutely something

as a kid growing up arcades were horrible. I would try to go as often as possible, but arcade owners seemed to have distain for kids, and teenagers would shove me around all the time and act like assholes. Fights broke out, A LOT. The arcade resurgence now is amazing because it’s an idealized version of what we all

If there’s one criticism I have against Borderlands / BL2, it’s the lack of normalized level scaling in co-op that Destiny does so very well. On the other hand, it’s absolutely hilarious to invite a friend 10-15 levels lower than you are and watch them run into combat and get wrecked.

Wow, a beautiful tribute to someone who DIED today. You forgot to mention the part where he provided amazing jobs for 50k+ people, and put food on the table for a good part of our country.

Seems a bit insensitive. The dude just passed. He did contribute $millions to cancer research. Guess you are pro cancer.

And yes, my comment is just as myopic as your article.

I only have one star to give!

Lol.

I don’t think a lot of people got the joke, but I lol-ed.

Like Highlander!

Except the game tanked when they simplified it (Vanilla D2) and has grown as they have added complexity.

It’s actually exactly what the community has been asking for and if you’re already in the game, it’s not very complicated. Could see how it would be a bit much for a brand new player, tho.

Now playing

I’m a 64-year-old American from Ohio, and back in my childhood when I was learning how to speak everyone around me pronounced “data” as “day-tuh,” particularly in the phrase “data processing.” If you said “dah-tuh” people took it you were talking about a school of modern art involving urinals that had been autographed

What the team found was that, in general, most reviewers tend to drop spoilers in big chunks toward the latter end of their pieces

Take it at face value.

A grammar facist.

Take that, Cats

What are you? Like, a grammar Nazi or something?
