While I love Star Trek, and I generally just handwave away the dumb science (“It’s just a show! These these happen for [techno-babble] reasons!”), the whole “Romulus was destroyed by a supernova and it happened too fast to evacuate the planet” thing kind of stretches my credulity.

Shouldn’t we up to the 25th Century in the TNG-era timeline by now?

Something is very wrong with the future if Picard is putting his Burgundy into Bordeaux bottles.

I hope that some sort of failure isn’t the set-up for Picard. One, it’s a bit of a cliche. How many sequels were set up after the hero retired following a major failure? That premise feels below the talent at work in this series. Two, I’m not sure if an event like that would send Picard into early retirement anyways.

She’ll show up, barely resemble her comic counterpart, not be named, have at most one speaking line, and disappear after a total of ten onscreen seconds, and Fox (RIP) will still claim they placed her in there because they care about her role in the comics.

My dark heart is warmed by the general sentiment of the responses which is, “Well, fuck what they say.”

That was part of my theory. Her body is back, but not her soul and Doctor Strange shows up to reunite them.

It's "Risk" for me. I can loose 7/8 games of Hearts and still have fun, but even if I am doing okay at Risk, I am probably just barely not punching someone in the face.

So we should really re-name this period the Bark Ages, then.

... moist, soggy conditions ...

This truly astonishing and unparalleled artefact has given us an insight into prehistoric technology that we could never have guessed at,

Sinear Fleet systems had a merger?!

Well this makes no sense at all. Part of the point of the first film was they were trying to prove the existence. As I recall they’d never actually seen ghosts before then.

I’ve never listened to the program. As I approach 40, I suppose I’m just too old to be targeted by these “let’s get the youth vote” types, and not yet old enough to watch Facebook News without my parents’ permission.

...I am the FORGOTTEN MIDDLE-AGED! /s

Which is nothing given the scale of what they were dealing with. Think of it this way: If you’re 1 in 14M here on earth that means there are millions of people just like you. He was only able to find 1 out of 14M in the brief time they had.
